Sometimes they’re abused when they’re not treated like money-making assets. In fact, the term ‘student athletes’, was made up by a coach or somebody decades ago (might’ve been the 60s or around that) who wanted to use this bs term he made up so he wouldn’t have to pay his students, who, these days, only get to play college basketball by being made to take ‘paper classes’ and Swahili lessons so they’ll quickly meet the minimum requirements for tryouts and barely enough time to study regular classes and eat.
