Studio Fish Photography, How To, Scape the Tank, Take the Photo and Edit it in Photoshop.

In the past I've had a few people ask me how I take my photos of fish in studio, so I thought I'd put together this video on how I do it step by step, starting with the simple small scape, I've chosen Red Neon Blue-eyes for my subjects, then I show you the gear I use followed by how I finish off the photo in photoshop, I hope you enjoy this video and for more like this please like and subscribe to get notifications of future videos, Thanks for Watching.

I like using my 90mm macro and 35mm 1.4 for catching good pictures of my fish. Having a high megapixel camera helps for a lot cropping.

Yes it's great fun, the beauty of taking such crisp photos is you can blow them up to poster size and they don't pixilate, the trouble is choosing the one 🙂

Very thorough Jason. Have you considered doing a similar video for those that only have their iPhones to photograph with?

You can try burst mode holding the camera up to the glass, iPhones are amazing at taking photos and film but with photos of fast moving fish I still think the burst of the flash guns with a high speed camera setting can't be beaten unfortunately, I will do a video on filming down the track with a phone and some of the ideas I've used with it as it's a great tool that you can then screen shot off the video, but if it's fast moving like a sparing Rainbow you still need a lot of luck for it to be crisp.

It's coming, I've finished my new studio and I'm in the process of building the tanks, this is why I have been a bit slack with my videos, once it's all done I hope to do a lot of builds and videos based on our natural habitats, I've also been to the Northern Territory recently so there should be a few good ones out of there to, so keep an eye out 🙂

@@oats517 Yes probably although I won't have a stall at the next one, so I'll have more time to chat with people, I'd like to go to one and just relax and enjoy and maybe get some fish 🙂

Super interesting! What are the chances that you could do the same for video showing camera settings, etc? Also, that is the best scaped kmart tank I have ever seen.

Thank you, yeah I may do that down the track to, I've seen some really cool spots being videoed but the camera movement can spoil it.
