A man who grows a beard for women doesn't deserve his beard!

I am 21 and have a full beard, the beard gives me respect no joke. People respect it and move out of the way when I am walking towards them. They leave the door open for me. They call me "sir" instead of "young man" and such. People just respect beards. I also do not get carded anywhere. When I shave it I do not get as much respect. There are only two kinds of people without beards, women and children.

My wife hated my facial hair and hated that I have a beard. She was constantly yelling at me to shave it off. Throwing out threats and ultimatums. So I finally gave in and compromised. She now has an 'EX' in front of wife now.

I used to work at Enterprise Rentacar, they have a mandatory rule that you have to shave. One monday I showed up with some stubble and I got sent home to shave. Needless to say I now work in the oilfield industry and have grown out a beard ever since I left that company. But yes, beardsmen are more trustworthy.

I didn't trust her until :37 . then I trusted her. Then I didn't trust her anymore after 1:45 .

Why do women like beards? Women are attracted to testosterone, beards and deep voices are signs of high testosterone. It's instinctive.

It's because beards take commitment and women like commitment.

If you like having a beard, why would you waste time around women who don't like them?

I have a lumberjack beard and it looks badass. Most men can't grow a full beard due to genetics and/or testosterone levels and they tend to grow in patchy depending on the person.

i think the jaw line and how strong it's pronounced also counts with that, a strong jaw square carries a beard better then a round jaw line

I won't grow a beard just because a woman likes it, my self expression doesn't rely on fads or needing desperately to belong, that doesn't mean I don't care about my appearance either.

I lived with a girlfriend who wanted me clean shaven. Although she did like my long hair and was disappointed when I had to cut it for a new job. She was VERY disappointed.

You're beautiful 😍 I started growing my beard last October to prep myself for NoShave November and I've kept it since. I get it trimmed and shaped up once a month at my barber, but then the rest of the maintenance is up to me. Like shaving my neck beard every few days when it's starting to grow back too fast. It makes me look older, it thins my face and surprising it also hides my double chin so that's a huge bonus. I used to be so self conscious about that. Now it never shows in pictures or in person so it's great

i used to be turned off by beards but ever since i turned 30 a few years back they have become surprisingly sexy and appealing. There was a guy at work with shoulder length hair and clean shaven i thought nothing of him but when he had short haircand grew out his facial hair I was like "Hubba hubba...come to mama" ;)

my beard turned 22 in January. Its not for fashion. It covers the scars from a crash. I think its really funny to watch a man pet himself while he grows for the winter.

3:18 That's a soul patch, not a goatee. A goatee is actually on the bottom of your chin, and can be above that as well, but htat little piece under the lower lip is referred to as a soul patch.

my beard grows an inch/month. before I had surgery it was down to the top of my belly. this time around im growing out he stach too.

im 30 years old and have used a razor only 2 times in my life. both were in high school for ROTC. some high up guy came to the school to grade our schools military training and knowledge so everyone had to shave.

Although I still have trouble in talking to women, thinking that I maynot be macho enough for them. I am happy from within by keeping my self busy in my work. Currently pursuing my masters degree in engineering. So yeah not everyone has the all happy go lucky beard. It did leave a huge impact on my confidence, but through regular exercise like running and swimming, I am able to keep up that part of my life covered up.

The mustache is the good old school. Appreciate it. See Don Frye, Dan Severn .... Tom Selleck, Burt Reinolds, Sam Elliot. I am 39. I have a legendary mustache since 17.

I live just outside of Portland, as Cristin mentioned us in regards to mustache acceptance. Oregonians are fine with any type of facial hair or no facial hair. Beards or the "Lumbersexual" (check urban dictionary for full definition) buy most common is clean shaven. I think I have only seen mustaches on old men, aside from my Dad who had one from 1986-2006 since then he has a beard. Most the older men in my family have beards.

I find that surprising as I really dislike beards. If I were dating a man and he stopped shaving I would stop kissing him until he shaved.

I'm in the British army and the mustache is allowed to all soldiers and officers, and it's common enough. Though it's only the regular well kept mustache will do as we are real men.

I dislike beards. They're itchy. I like smooth things. But all my senses are always in overdrive. I hate tags on clothing too, and certain types of fabric.

I was going to make one of those Dos Equis Guy jokes, along the lines of "I don't always have a beard, but when I do..." But then I remembered that I do, in fact, always have a beard.

I thought someone might find it interesting if I show the different facial hair choices I [a heterosexual male] had in college with the kinds of girls I'd attract / date. You can see my face to the left for reference. Keep in mind, personality is a huge deal. Clean shaven - The "all around". Most women seemed to prefer it. Along with a lot of Christians / other religious women. Black girls too for some reason. Scrubble - Seemed to start a lot of relationships easily with stubble on my face. Could be a coincidence or maybe there is merit to being laid back. There was a fine line to be walked between easy going and homeless dude who wants your pizza crust though. Goatee / Soul Patch / Handlebar mustache - Hipster chicks [not all], a few chicks into weird scar and blood fetishes, girls who smoked, girls with tats [not all]. Generally more edgy girls. Also attracted homosexual men for some reason Full luxurious beard: Now I don't know if this worked but I had a ton of homosexual men approach me when I had a beard. The amount of dudes coming up to me outweighed any benefit I was getting with women so I shaved it.

Does she speak for all women? Most girls I met says beards are ugly and from what I've read, science say's so aswell.

This a weird line of conversation, troubles with someone's beard growth, but I'll give it a shot. Everyone is different so just do whatever works for you. What are your habits like when trying to grow something? Do you start from a clean shave, give it a week, then get discouraged? You have to give it time. My hair was lighter and I also had the barely show in pictures. Not much you can do other than darken it. Don't feel bad about it. What does it look like if you don't shave for a week or two?

My wife is living proof of this study. I shaved my bread once and she did not ike it. She told me never to do that again. That was five years ago and, for the sake of the marriage, I never shaved off my bread again.

Orlando bloom's facial hair actually looks nice because it can be thick..as I said my mustache is light you can see the skin through it after two months without shaving and it doesn't appear on some photos and my chin hairs are so few and small...mine just doesn't look attractive at all

one time I decided to grow my facial hair, I gave it about two month the only thing I have is chin hair and light mustache (no side burns or anything)..my facial hair is black so I think there's nothing I can do about my mustache for now..I tried trimming a goatee but the goatee didn't work out for me mustache and chin hair aren't even connected and the goatee just didn't suit my face..so I guess there's nothing I actually can do

Being a Scorpio,I was able to come back even stronger. I thought so what I cannot grow a full stuble, I atleast have got my hair :) and even the chinese, japanese, some American Indian people cannot grow full beards..that doesn't stop them from succeeding right. All that matters folks is hard work and dedication !!

I like well kept beards and the "scrufffy" stubble look on guys. May be why I find Avi Kaplan so attractive - well, that and the VOICE. :)

I have a question related to shaving, or more so towards the razors themselves: Growing up my father was a STICKLER on making sure my Mother NEVER used his razor. He always stressed to my brother that womens hair completely ruined a razor and under no circumstances should a woman use a man's razor. If their was even the slightest thought that my mother, or I as I got older, partook of the blessed item he would become angry and throw it away. As an adult I was curious as to how much of this was truth and how much was BS passed down from father to son over the years. My husband was raised by his mother and never had any exposure to this idea and all the research I've done is inconclusive. Any thoughts on this mysterious idea about the evil of womens hair and the razors it destroys????
