A few things: 1: I'm pretty sure Randy had OCD and, as someone with OCD myself, I can say Randy's OCD was probably a factor in his treatment of Elizabeth. One symptom of OCD is intrusive thoughts, so it's possible Randy's OCD caused him to think Elizabeth would leave him or cheat on him. Keep in mind, this was the 80's, and seeking mental help back then was probably considered to be for "wimps". 2: After she left Randy but before she dated Lex Luger, Elizabeth was married to a lawyer (who's name I can't remember). However, the marriage only lasted 2 years. 3: Lex Luger allegedly beat Elizabeth. The police were called to their house one night and they found Elizabeth with various bumps and bruises.

My favorite wrestler ever, though I'm aware that he wasn't a perfect person. No one is. Still, Randy and Miss Elizabeth's relationship was potent, and has been made immortal due to the fascinating blend of reality and fiction that is wrestling. The Macho Man's charisma is legendary, and combined with his in-ring ability, you've got yourself one for the ages. OH yeeeeEEAH

I have a hard time blaming Randy for his overprotective behavior. I mean you got to think about the fact that he and Elizabeth were heels in a time when people believed this s*** was real. In addition to that, we've heard all the backstage stories and how wild and crazy that could be. I can't blame him. You see what happened when he wasn't around...

She was alive with Randy but died with Lex and I ain’t blaming Lex he was struggling himself but let’s be real people shit on Randy but again he was better for her than someone that simply allowed her to do what made her feel good which ultimately led to her death. Sad for the both of them the wrestling business takes 20 years off your life or at least use to.

Randy got into drugs and steroids when he went to the WCW. Luger had been doing steroids for years. Liz was not raised that way. My cousins kids went to high school with her, and two of them went to UK with her. She was a shy, humble person. She was friendly but was never the party type. I was shocked to hear that the both of them had gotten involved in that mess after being able to stay away from that scene for so long. Liz's family does not want her in the HOF. They believe that the WWF and the WCW killed her. I can't say I completely disagree with them.

Savage became such a big star despite being around in the time of Hogan. How many times did Hogan put Savage over? That's right it's zero. Savage proved to be so captivating despite putting over guys like Steamboat, Hogan, DDP, Yokozuna and Warrior. Matter of fact he got dominated by Yoko in the Rumble with that stupid pin attempt. I don't think that was an accident, I think he knew Yoko was gased and the best way to get him over was to have Yoko toss him over clean while laying down. His finishing move was kicked out of strongly. He did like ten to Warrior and still lost. Savage was a gem.

Agreed. There are 2 types of wrestlers, there are "pre-match planners" and then there's "call it in the ring" guys. Both Savage and Steamboat were planners and the story has it that they both went to a diner a week before WM3 and poured over 6 pages of handwritten notes and ideas that they both came up with. What we got from that is an instant classic.

He was indeed marketable. McMahon was biased towards bigger (sized) talent back then. McMahon also had an unknown bias against Savage. He actually was better on the mic than Hogan & was a much better technical wrestler than Hogan. Hogan resented Savage-he took things to an extreme outside of the ring which always spoke volumes to me about his own insecurities regarding Savage.

As a wrestling fan I always try to judge their body of work separate from the person. That being said it is sad that Randy was unable to really have the matches he could have had. Already one of the all time greats as is but just imagine a bit more out of the Hogan feud when it was hot. His WCW work I think also would have been better. Now as far as Liz goes, I think she did great but again you could see it just was never as good as the first run with the two. Mania 7 certainly was an epic moment, and it is a shame WWE never gave the couple both in story and sort of in reality a sendoff for all they both did. Sad but we definitely got some great artwork from them both.

Too bad Vince McMahon failed to use Randy more *and* better out of pure spite. As for WCW, that asylum was run into the ground by the imbecile inmates -Bischoff, Kevin Nash, Hogan himself. Legit all of Ted Turner’s money at their disposal and gave WWE a huge run for their money until their egos and ineptitude destroyed what could have been the David to the WWE’s Goliath.

I think it's time to shred this narrative that Randy was a control freak. In the end, Elizabeth died at 42 years old, Randy despite the toxicity of the wrestling industry managed to outlive her. Clearly, he knew years ago that she was in danger if he wasn't serious about protecting her. The same people who ridicule him for protecting her regularly speak about sleeping with married women, hell - any groupie that would give them the time or day. When Elizabeth was with Randy she was safe. Outside of Randy, we see what happened. Lets give him some credit and believe that maybe this man knew something about his WIFE that we didn't know and kept his promise to protect her as long as she was with him. Was he crazy. Yes - he was just as crazy as the wrestling business itself.

Scorpios do well with pisces 🐟. I'm a pisces and my girlfriend from college and me loved each other alot. Unfortunately, we both had traumatic childhood experiences. So we broke away and thought about a third run with each other. A Scorpio 🦂 is a leader and a Pisces 🐟 is sweet and nice. Both go well together.

I didnt know anything about the behind scene between randy and elizabeth but as a on screen couple they're great couple albeit elizabeth had zero personality, her innocent look probably good enough beside machoman who were charismatic. If only randy not being over protective and stay healthy until today...if only, that could be said for other passed wrestlers.

People make excuses, but Randy wouldn't have had to worry about "the boys" if he'd let Elizabeth have her own life outside of wrestling and not be on the road. He took her on the road because he had to control her at all times. And that's how he lost her.

Because an equally over bearing woman would allow that.

She worked in the business obviously she’s going to ride with her husband be weird if she didn’t and he was worried because he knew what the boys where like and the girls as they’re on the road all the damn time.

I remember when she first came on to the scene. Every time she walked down to aisle to the ring Vince McMahaon would never shut up about her. She would keep commenting how beautful she was. Every. Single. Time! Looking back, with all the controversy about Vince, It was clear what was going through his mind. Actually, it wasn't that hard to figure out back then how hot Vince was for her. Vince is a pig!

I was there from the wwf early 80's as fan. i bought into the Macho/Liz thing hook, line and sinker. i loved the storylines. after i saw Liz in the NWO and eventually with Lex irl, i refused to believe that was the real Liz. i know she went through tough paranoia with Randy in wwf, but I'd like to think the sweet wwf Liz was the real Liz.

Meh. He sure got under Incestuous Daddy McMahon’s skin and his legend lives on. Vincent McMahon can and will rot in Hell for all of his misdeeds and abuses of his workers.

Ironically perhaps if Liz had stayed with Randy she might be alive now. Luger turned her into a drug addict
