Yep...saw an interview with Rik Emmett (another virtuoso guitarist and vocalist), and he said he and Tommy were pretty close..they asked him to join Damn Yankees, and he said why? Pretty sure he did some snow...anyway I don't care. Jon Bon Jovi has lived a clean life. I can't find anything on him about ever doing drugs, but his voice is gone. Age doesn't matter. Not everyone is the same.

@@bigelile07 he got sober from that in late 80’s, after his daughter was born,&right before Damn Yankees formed in ‘89,and has been since. @@msmegs93 I mentioned it because the OP said his voice is the same as it's always been because of clean living which isn't true. Of course Steven Tyler's voice doesn't sound the same way it did in 1972... The man is 74 years old. Again, at 60 years old Jon Bon Jovi's voice is fried, and as far as I know the man has never drank or done drugs in his entire life. Everyone is different.

He's an amazing songwriter, guitarist, singer. I would, however, love to see him just One Last Time with DDY, to hear the magic of their voices together again live. What a great guy, a totally humble man. I had a sports store in a southside Chicago mall back in the early 80's & Styx would record their albums at a very small studio next door to the mall called Pumpkin Studios. He came into my store once on a recording break to kill time while recording an album. I noticed him right away & when he walked in I happened to be on the phone with a friend of mine. I told him that Tommy Shaw just walked in & my friend didn't believe me. He said if it's him then put him on the phone.....I did & he talked to my friend like he knew him. Afterward he bought a bunch of things from me, a raquetball raquet, a bunch of raquetballs & some warmups or track suits. I don't play guitar but the guy i was on the phone with was a guitar player & just the day before I was at his place and just happened to pick up a copy of Guitar Player magazine on his table & started reading an interview that none other, Tommy Shaw gave to them. I told him that & he said that that was THE only interview he ever gave where they printed exactly everything that he had said & that they were totally honest. But again, what a great guy he was.

I used to like to walk the straight and narrow line I used to think that everything was fine Sometimes I'd sit and gaze for days through sleepless dreams All alone and trapped in time All alone and trapped in time I wonder what tomorrow has in mind for me Or am I even in it's mind at all Perhaps I'll get a chance to look ahead and see Soon as I find myself a crystal ball Soon as I find myself a crystal ball Tell me, tell me where I'm going I don't know where I've been Tell me, tell me, won't you tell me And then tell me again My heart is breaking, my body's aching And I don't know where to go Tell me, tell me, won't you tell me I've just got to know Crystal ball There's so many things I need to know Crystal ball There's so many things I've got to know Crystal ball ["extra verse" used occasionally live:] If you should see me walking Through your dreams at night Would you please direct me Where I ought to be I've been looking for a crystal ball To shed the light To find a future in me... To find a future in me... Crystal ball There's so many things I need to know Crystal ball There's so many things I've got to know Crystal ball

My all time favorite song. Just beautiful. I love the way he hits the top of the notes! And the acoustic guitar just takes me away. This video gives me goosebumps.
