2:08 is one of the best shots ever made. The contrast of pure sadness and joy, and justice the writers did Connor. He was ignored all his adult life by his father, and his dads death was going to ruin his weeding, the most important day for him, the episode was perfection for the concept, the contrast, the shots, music... and they got married. The scene is genius, the top moment of the show.

Holy shit, the GRAVITY of this scene. Ever since the first episode - when Kendall said he wanted to come to his dad's birthday because he didn't know how many more there would be - this moment has been looming over the entire story like the sword of Damocles. In mythology and history, the death of a king sends a massive shockwave over the land. Even after Louis VXI was beheaded, there were reports of immense grief and fear among the French commoners, who felt as though they had "lost a father" even though they had called for his death. Succession makes this literal. EVERYTHING flowed from Logan - every decision at Waystar, every emotional dynamic in the Roy family, all the money, all the hunger for love and self-esteem. The void he left behind is vast. It's the mythological gravity of a power vacuum (and the resultant fight is gonna be crazy), but it's also the realistic devastation of losing a father, suddenly, unpredictably, over the phone, with decades of unresolved trauma. Like what do you even do now? In season one, Senator Eavis says of Logan, "He's not a man, he's a fucking planet." Everyone orbited around Logan. Now he's gone. And thanks to the music, the transcendent acting performances, you really get the feeling the world has ended. In awe of the genius of this show.

By far the best episode. It felt so intimate and realistic. How they spent the whole day holding up to their phone, waiting for confirmation even though deep down they remained hopeful. They went throught every stage, since denial from Roman and Shiv, to anger and resentment to finally just admit it. Kendall being the cold head, thinking straight, until finally they release that official statement by the time the sun is setting. Can't stop thinking about Connor though, he had just told his siblings how he felt he wasn't loved by his family and yet, they've forgotten him again. Glad he said "fuck it" and married Willa, finally coming to terms to the fact that he is not loved enough. Total Shakespearean tragedy. Brilliant

I'm sorry for your loss. Think that's part of the genius of the episode and the show, these people have the most extravagant lifestyles beyond our reach but death comes for us all. We can all identify and empathise with the kids as we've been through it. This episode is a masterpiece. Everything is so incredibly real. The day started as usual. The news arrive unexpectedly and a bit randomly. Shiv's lost phonecall that would be one of the most important of her life. The lack of information. The doubt about the death (is it real, is that something that can be done?). The last words that Logan probably never heard. The kids thinking about their last moments with their father (Was it something they said or did?). The way we all try to find some meaning in Logan's last words when he enters the plane, but no, there's no meaning, there were no premonitions, nothing that could make us alert for what was going to happen. We can try to find some premonitions but the fact is that it just happened. No time to make peace with the old man, or to cope with the old baggage. The way one of the richest man on earth dies on the floor of a plane with someone doing CPR by protocol. When they are leaving the boat, taking the helicopter and arriving at the airport... They are absolutely broken, but somehow they find the strength to manage pratical things, to be there as adults, while entering a new world they don't even know how to navigate. And that's it, the day started as usual, but suddenly, everything has changed and nothing will ever be the same. This episode is so raw, and yet so nuanced. I really don't know when I will be capable of watching it again. The way Succession, a nearly-perfect show, constantly satirizing the rich and with such elaborate dialogues between the characters, chooses (and succeeds) to portray the main event of the show in such a restrained approach... is history being made.

Cracks me up every time to see Sara Snook losing it completely in these scenes, then knowing that as soon as the director says cut she’s out of character, no Shiv whatsoever, and asking if that was good or does he want another take. Interesting that actors can either do it Sara’s way or Jeremy Strong’s way and both achieve peak performance.

I love the different decisions of the kids on whether they wanted to see thier dead father coming off the plane. Shiv chooses not to watch, Roman chooses to go see him 1 last time and Kendall watches from a far. Do you risk seeing your dead father up close and possibly being traumatised forever from the sight, or do you choose not to watch and possibly end up regretting not seeing your father 1 last time? Whatever you choose you will probably end up questioning the decision you made for the rest of your life.

If my mom (56) dies, I wouldn’t know what to do afterwards, maybe lose all hope because she was there during our ups and downs, she’s probably gonna be the only one to break me, even tho I seen all my friends and relatives die way too young that I don’t even care about death of others anymore, and I’m 32 and this hits deep

We will find out if the other actors can carry this show to its conclusion. I must admit that careers were probably enhanced for anyone who participated.
