HARM stands for "HiGH-SPEED Anti Radiation Missiles", not "Homing". Here in Ukraine we remembered that good. Thanks for supplying us with them.✌️☮️

You are correct, I used to work on those missiles back in my Navy Days. After I retired from the Navy I worked on AARGM which stands for Advanced Anti Radiation Missile which is the Replacement for HARM and a much more accurate missile.

@@user-jc8sh5gy2y The AGM-88 was lightyears ahead of the missile that it replaced, which was the old AGM-45 Shrike. The Shrike was good, the HARM was leaps & bounds better, and the I hope that the newer AGM-88E AARGM provides that same level of advancement over the HARM. 🙂

Well, seeing as how the Ike was rushed to the Med without it's typical predeployment work ups, all of these bombs, so far, would have been dropped on the practice range. Instead, they get some real world practice.

I have no problem with the retaliatory strikes, but how do we know they "devastated" the Houthis? They are pretty widely dispersed and I seriously doubt we are able to do that much damage. In addition is the cost. We are using very expensive defense systems to shoot down cheap drones and cruise missiles, and attacking sites with Hornets and ordinance that are expensive to operate. I dont know that we have any other choice, but I dont know how long this is sustainable.

This video contains a factual error, which undermines its credibility. Specifically, HARM stands for “High Speed Anti-Radiation Missile.” This video misstates the acronym’s meaning. I was the Deputy Program Manager in NavAir’s A-6/EA-6B Program Office (PMA-234), when the EA-6B Prowler was the fleets’ primary Electronic Attack weapons system, so I can guarantee this correction is accurate.

Super Hornets have a bigger and likely more powerful AESA radar, as well as more internal fuel and missile capacity; Vipers might outrate close in but it depends on the speed/alt involved. They _could_ be fairly defensive starting off, but it's mostly down to the pilots at play. Throwing an EA aircraft on one side is going to completely wash the other.

I think F-16s. The latest version has everything that Hornets have, and the F-16 can be configured for an air superiority role. I am assuming that the growler is not in play. Otherwise, the Hornets will have an unfair advantage.
