Super Mario Galaxy: A Cosmic Masterpiece

Super Mario Galaxy is what I would consider a masterpiece, everything from its amazing level design, to its outstanding soundtrack, to even the little things like Rosalina's storybook makes this game one that stands out from the rest in my eyes. I've been wanting to make a retrospective / review on galaxy for a long while now but wanted to wait until I felt I was more confident in my video making skills, so I really hope this turned out well! Super Mario Galaxy was my favourite Mario game growing up, and honestly it might be my favourite game of all time looking back on it.

No other Mario game captures the feeling of grandeur quite like Galaxy, even as someone who prefers the second game. The story, music, gamelplay, and levels are all near perfect. Hopefully we can get another 3D Mario with focused, linear levels like the Galaxy games one day.

Agreed! And yeah, it would be really cool to get another linear 3D Mario game, although I feel like if a new 3D Mario comes out any time soon, it will likely be a more open world type of deal due to that being a big craze right now.

I grew up with this game and its sequel they are both probably my favourite games of all time and I still come back to them to re 100% them every so often. Glad it was covered

Same here! I have so much nostalgia for them both and I’m glad to hear that you love them too :) - I just wish Galaxy 2 got a switch port or something, for the meantime I’m looking to set up my wii again to play it lol

I loved this game so much I remember when I first got it I was so in love I will nvr forget abt this game this game will always and forever will be in my heart my mom got it for me on Christmas and I remember the day it broke I was so heartbroken and then she got me Super Mario Galaxy 2 den I fell in love again and was almost done and lost the game I was heartbroken again💔 then she bought the toy for me I seen in barnsnoble I was in love again!! I was 6-7 when I got it now I’m 16 I bought the game like 2 years again and beat it I didn’t feel the same but I’m glad I have it again and got to finish it this time I will always love this game and nvr forget abt it!!❤️😢

Great video! I've always been more of a galaxy 2 guy personally, but I can't deny how great the first one is as well. A lot of what you said resonated with me, and I think many others will agree. Enjoyed it a ton

Thank you! I have plans for a Galaxy 2 video in the future, I think its level design is probably better than the first game honestly, but I think I'm just too nostalgic about galaxy 1!
