Why Did The Mario Movie Do So Well?

Күн бұрынThe Super Mario Bros. Movie has already done exceptionally well for an animated video game adaptation, and is only continuing to break records as time passes! But we know from the other attempts at making Mario Films that it isn't enough to just have 'mario' in the title, the film needs to be good. So what did the Mario movie do to garner so much success?

Who was your favourite character in the film? I personally Loved Charlie Day's Luigi! --- I know we don't usually talk about films/tv shows much here, but Mario has a special place in my heart so I thought I'd give my takes on why I think the Mario movie did as well as it did!

loved the video. you took so many of the words out of my mouth. i think you nailed the points about Illumination's universal appeal working together perfectly with Nintendo/Mario's. and the references were done so tastefully! fantastic vid, keep going

Even after this video I'm baffled by the success. It was an abysmal film. Illumination a debatable track record? Come on, Despicable Me 3 is one of the best animation films ever made, just second behind the LEGO Batman Movie (in Flemmish dub it is a undebatable no.1 ). If this Mario Film is Heineken, Sonic is Leffe. Bad taste vs. good taste. Jim Carrey is a perfect evil yet funny antagonist. Bowser is a cute clown at best, not capable of stopping the two even bigger clowns in overalls. Mario is the Trump of film making. You don't understand the following.
