Yes my friend, the yoga sniper is sims aerial hard punch, it often catches people low blocking as it hits overhead, i have always seen players either get hit by it or block it but john choi actually punishes the blocked or focused sniper such as 4.24

A Vortex in SF4 is a situation in which is incredibly hard to get out of. Say that Cammy scores a hard knock down and as you are getting up she jumps into the air and starts a Canon Strike. It sets you up in an ambiguous block because you can't guess which side she'll hit you making it incredibly difficult to get out of. This is a vague statement but if you watch Gouki, Cammy players for example you'll see the Vortexes on a daily occurrence.

A 'vortex' is a mixup which if the opponent guesses wrong leads into yet ANOTHER mixup. The 'vortex' continues until the opponent finally gets back to a neutral position. Using your example, if after that cannon strike, cammy combod into sweep, then performed a safejump ambiguous cannon strike, she's continuing the vortex.
@JustFrame2111 жыл бұрын
That's only one situation that I portrayed, their are multiple options that can lead into a Vortex, what I stated Is a Vortex, however with these characters, their are more then one way to set options in which you can continuous bombard them with Vortexes. Same concept applies for everything I said.

He's a pretty legendary player. But then again so is the other guy. Also, there's the possibility that he has the same sponsor? Sony, Capcom or Madcatz etc. often sponsor these events and/or individual teams. So they need to advertise their products while they are commentating.

If John Choi's Super ShinkuHado -> Ultra MetsuHado wouldve connected in that last matchup, I wouldve fallen in love with his Ryu (no homo). The way he sets up is amazing. The spam of the hadouken's is smart because it provided him with a good amount of punish opportunities that Dhalsim isnt good in because he doesnt have an upclose game. Dhalsim's strength is range so i like how Choi closed the distance. All In All, BEAUTIFUL Gameplay.

that is what he has to do, dhalsim is a character that cane hit you from across the screen with his stretchy limbs, you can just rush in against him because he will own you, you need to play a ranged game until you find an opening

Yeah, I mean the thing you gotta do is change your mentality for fighting games... People complain "You just pick Sagat, throw fireballs and use standing roundhouse for antiair" or "You pick Guile and use Sonic Boom and fierce" and talk about all that as if there's no way to get around it. Shit, you just gotta adjust. Just practice and find an opening, you know what I'm saying? So yeah I agree with you, people just need to learn how to get around zoning. It's a pain, but that's how it goes.

no, a vortex is simply a knockdown with many options. some are very hard, I.e. akuma, cammy, seth, ibuki. Others can be pretty easy like elf's, and what is with this replay and comments? did someone rewind time? is this because of ultra?

@liquidsnake2311 жыл бұрын
John choi is baiting a jump in with the fireballs. Dhalsim could jump in and than teleport when the shoryuken comes out. However what if john doesnt shoryuken? sabin could be a sitting duck. Since there is no air blocking in this version of SF you gotta be careful jumping and such. trust me i could go on but there is a ton of mind games going on here.

You don't understand the game then. It isn't spam, it takes a lot of patience and calculation to play a fireball character correctly. You want to watch a chess match without pawns...learn the game then watch it, it becomes immensely more enjoyable.
@zaiddagamseh11 жыл бұрын
I used to play this game religiously until I realized it's not street fighter...it's cops and robbers. It's not a fighting game if all you do is chase chickens into the corner.

My eyes roll every time when see someone thinks that spamming fireballs is cheap and good way to win evo. It really easy to jump over one to punish it for a combos and most of the cast have anti projectile moves. You can also walk and block until they corner themselves. If you lose to spammer, you probably not as good as you thought you were. What cheap is that the top tier characters like cammy and crimson viper can set constant mix ups and unblockables after a knockdown which is a nightmare.

Spamming characters/players have won alot of the biggest tournaments. Like Chris G does just spamming. Lots of pros know and do spam attacks which is why Ryu is usually always a champion character tournaments are won with. C. Viper and Cammy make it far but usually lose in the end to a Seth or Fei-long. Eh doesn't matter, I've seen lots of pros go down to spamming, nothing new to win like that in pro tournaments since there are no rules.
@datriadx1811 жыл бұрын
I have no idea why those in the SF community are still trying to explain the mechanics of the game to those who obviously have no fundamental grasp of the series beyond PUSH BUTTON HIT STUFF. The sheer number of things both players have to be aware of at any given time in a match like this is something the average person watching at a glance simply cannot understand unless they take the time to get educated. Not condescending, it's the same way I look at LoL and can't understand shit.
@renepina9511 жыл бұрын
What should I get tekken or street fighter?
@EmporerCam11 жыл бұрын
John is still playing SF2 in his head, so of course he tries to play the footsies/fundamentals based game. While it's true that it doesn't work in this game, the game would be a lot better off if it did. What people are calling "fireball spam" is really the remnants of the original fireball trap and USING YOUR BRAIN in a game that actually required it. Want to get out of pressure that you created with bad positioning? Too bad - you can't FADC or mash ultra. Welcome to the shoto pain train, baby!

He was against Dhalsim, who has a ridiculous range, the Hadouken is Ryu's only ranged attack, even Dhalsim's punches have decent range, what else is he supposed to do? Try and close the gap and get hit in the process?

You have the right for an opinion as well but that doesn't mean yours is correct either. But an assult of fireballs and repeat moves from any character like grabs that you can spam in SF2 HD does not quite add any variety, its just a game of who can spam better, nothing flashy or new, just a game of patience and spam. I hate spamming myself so I never do it, I feel like there is no real skill being used. Kid huh? Makes me wonder how old you think I am or how very old you are to say that.
