For everyone going on about Aberforth and goats: what if his assumed-dead-in-childbirth-love was an animagus? Whose form was a goat? Goats always having a special place in his heart afterward?

It's possible that the "aunt" was actually the mother. It wouldn't have been acceptable for an unmarried woman with a baby to travel alone. An aunt/ governess would've been fine.

My take on the Dumbledore/Credence situation has always been related to book seven: "Kendra had jet black hair which she tended to wear in a high bun, dark eyes, high cheekbones, and a straight nose. Harry Potter, upon seeing a photograph of her, thought she looked Native American, possibly indicating her heritage." Credence might have been sent to America to live with relatives of Kendra Dumbledore.

Jay and Ben go to all the trouble of coming up with well thought out and interesting theories just for warner brothers to be like ‘And Creedance’s mother is… Minerva Mcgonnacgal’

That last one also plays nicely into why it's Dumbledore, specifically, that goes to get the young Tom Riddle from the orphanage.

Credence looked like Snape to me. I'd follow the Prince family bloodline back and see if that works. Would explain why Dumbledore is always so sympathetic to Snape.

One hole in this is that while yes Nagini may speak Parseltounge, we know she also speaks French to Irma Dugard in the film so she certainly is not stuck ONLY being a Parselmouth.

The obvious answer is just a love affair at Hogwarts. Aberforth would be in school and had a fling with Nashira Black. Why Nashira? Because Nashira is one of the stars in Capricornus...the Goat constellation and remember that "trouble" he had with charming goats...maybe he was charming someone of the goat. And his patronus being a goat might make more sense then.

I’ve hear a couple times that Harry could have lived with other family if he had any which is wrong. He could have had a thousands Potter relatives and Dumbledore would still have insisted on Harry living with the Dursley’s. It was his mothers blood that was protecting him and the only living blood relatives of Lilly were Petunia and Dudley.

My theory - I don't have a definite name but she's from Beauxbatons and probably a relative or friend of the Lestrange family. There's plenty of threads. You did a video a while back explaining that it's very likely that Albus competed in and won the 1899 Triwizard Cup. Grindelwald may well have been the Durmstrang representative, though he could have already been expelled. If it's held at Hogwarts then the Beauxbatons girls would be at Hogwarts and Grindelwald could easily have known her. A teenage fling during the Triwizard Tournament also seems somewhat more likely than Aberforth seducing a local witch during the holidays. If she's French then it explains why baby Credence ends up on the same boat as baby Corvus who we know was French; they're leaving for America from France. It also opens the door for Youssouf Kama to potentially know a lot more than he's letting on. And it would provide more duality; both Albus and Aberforth fall in love with foreign students that they meet during the Triwizard Tournament at the same time. Ultimately though the most likely outcome in my opinion is that the identity of Credence's mother is never revealed because it isn't important; the implication at the end of the film is that Credence is going to die soon.

I know that Harry's family is all dead. However, I always interpreted Dumbledore's words about his mother's blood. Made me think it had to be Lily's family not James'

Long shot here but, In Deathly Hallows, Harry sees a picture of Dumbledore's mother Kendra, I believe from Rita Skeeter's book, and he says she looked like she had some Native American features, what if Kendra is related to Isolt Sayre, by way of her daughter Martha, thus making Dumbledore a descendant of Slytherin?

It was impossible for Harry to live with anyone but petunia, the spell protects him because of his mother's blood not his dad.

I don't think a love potion was involved in Credence's conception. Contrary to Voldemort Credence actually cares for people his adoptive sister Modesty and Nagini most prominently. I acutally really like the idea of Credence being a descendant of Isolt Syre. I mean, the Dumbledores are already a powerfull family and like Credence Ariana managed to survive longer than most with the Obscurial inside her. (Newt tells us that there is no known case, who lived over the age of ten. Ariana was 14 when she was killed in the three-way-duell), combining that with the Gaunts (and Voldemort alone is living proof, that the family has the potential for great power) would add to his magical strengh. I hope we learn a little more about Credences mother, whoever she is.

I’m interested in the Grindlewald connection. When Harry is fighting Nagini, they go through the wall and it’s a nursery. The mother may have stayed with Bathilda for sometime before the child was sent to America.

Honestly, they missed their opportunity by making Credence Dumbledore’s brother, because he attached his sister’s obscurus to the baby. That would have been a new kind of magic, logical and worthy of the title secrets of Dumbledore. Just imagine a scene where Newt sees all of this in the Pensieve.

I know this video was about where Credence came from...but... You did just bring up Martha's potential branch of the Gaunt line. You've hoped in the past that Jacob was a lost descendant of Hufflepuff, but now we have a new option. That Snakewood wand from Dumbledore could have been more significant than they pass it off as in the movie...

Another neat thing with Martha is that she ends up marrying an American native and Harry mentions that a photo of Dumbledores mother reminded her of a native American woman so maybe that is what they started their relationship on bonding over their shared experiences as Wizards descended from American families somewhat feeling out of the water in a deeply rural village like Godric's Hollow and we know that Aberforth always had trouble fitting in.

In the books Dumbledore mothers description says she resembles a Native American. The Gaunts Squib daughter married a Native American. And on top of that in the books it heavily implies that Albus Dumbledore speaks parseltongue. So speaking parseltongue would have come from the Dumbledore side of the family. Edit: I would like to add that parseltongue can only be born with and cannot be learned. It can be imitated to speak parseltongue but not understand parseltongue. And I would like to point out Dumbledore understands parseltongue.

I'm watching the video as I edit this comment to add some other things that can contribute to each theory: - Potter woman: the Potter family also has a sort of relation with USA. One of the 12 original aurors in MACUSA was a Potter, so he could've had descendents there who could pass their summer vacations with the Potter family in Godric's Hollow and go back to USA. - Grindelwald's sister: it might not necessarily be his sister, but any other Bathilda's relative, and apparently she had many, so it would be easier for Credence to have an aunt that could take him to USA, that could be something Bathilda got for him, since she had many contacts around the world just as Dumbledore, what could include some teacher from Ilvermorny. - Marvolo's wife: you said the whole theory in another video, but if he is Merope's brother, the prophecy Yusuf said in the second movie can be related to the Gaunt siblings, not the Lestranges, and it would be talking about everything that happened to them in 1926. "A son cruelly banished" would be Morfin, since he was sent to Azkaban that year. "Despair of the daughter" would be Merope, after she was abandoned by Tom Riddle. "Return, great avenger with wings from the water" would be Aurelius, who returned to the magical world that year (returns with wings, because he is a Dumbledore - phoenix -, from the water, because everyone thought he died in that accident) - Martha Stewart's descendent: it is said that Kendra Dumbledore was a muggle born and that her appearence kind of resembles native american people. Knowing that muggle born wizards are usually descendents of squibs and that Martha's husband was a native american, Kendra herself could be Martha Stewart's descendent and the girl could be Kendra's relative, maybe Albus and Aberforth's distant cousin. Maybe Kendra could've heard the sugestion to live in Godric's Hollow from the girl's mother, or maybe they were americans and were there for her funeral. And now that I'm thinking, it could explain why Dumbledore can understand the parseltongue, but he is not able to comunicate with snakes, and it can be another reason for the Gaunts to marry their cousins, to mantain this hability, since they noticed it is lost when the blood is diluted.

Great video! I personally like the second explanation the best because, when I was watching Secrets it felt a little weird that Aberforth who was supposed to be devoted to caring for his sister unlike Albus, had a romantic relationship on the side with a random person. However, Gellert's sister is likely to have the same kind of manipulation powers as her brother and it would deepen the duality between the brothers. Both had lovers who used them but they became stronger and better people because of it. As well as meaning that Gellert's sister ultimately used her brother's downfall, which is cool.

My theory is the mother could have been a neighbor or family friend who helped Aberforth look after Ariana from time to time. She and Aberforth grew very close as they both would have being around the house a lot to take care of Ariana, which made them develop romantic feelings for each other. I think its possible she could have also been a Gaunt, which could explain how Credence might be a parselmouth. My guess is Credence's mother is Marvolo's niece and when she got pregnant, she feared that Marvolo would try to take Credence from her to be raised by him in their rundown shack, and force him to marry Merope when they came of age. Fearing this outcome, she gave Credence to her sister who agreed to take him with her to America and raise him far away from Marvolo's reach. This would lead to their ship sinking in the Atlantic Ocean and everyone assumed Credence drowned at sea when Leta switched Credence with her brother. Credence's aunt of course did drown trying to save who she thought was her nephew, but I think her sister who is also Credence's mother is still alive. She might still be living around Godric's Hollow or some place in the UK. We might even get to see her in the next movie (assuming it gets green-lighted).

Merope didn't necessarily need to brew the love potion herself. She could have bought it, or stolen it, or acquired it in any number of other ways. I don't think Romilda Vane brewed the love potion she tried to give Harry herself.

The real question is... What is the point of Credence? In the grand scale of things, what was his part in all the Wizarding World story?

Adding to the previous theory about Jacob's wand being off Snakewood, possibly the wand of the middle Peveral Brother. Another nice alignment would be that Jacob gives the wand to Credence, who then is able to activate the wand.

What if Credence is related to Snape? We know his mother's surname was Prince, but not were she was from. JK never said the Prince family did not have any connection to Godric's Hollow. Plus, Credence was looking allot like Snaps in 'Secrets.

Remember that Grindelwald was a Seer, so he could have known both the truth about the baby swap and the name Aurelius from his visions. It is always a possibility. Also about Credence's "aunt" - even if she was mentioned specifically as an aunt, she might have not been a biological aunt. Maybe she was a legal guardian at the time (but not directly related) or a woman figure close to his family, you know, how children often call their parents' close friends aunts and uncles. Maybe that was also the case here (I know, weak explanation, but still a possibility).

I also thought Gaunt first. I like your theory about the Ilvermorny tie-in. Also Grindelwald having a sister is surprising but almost caricature-esque. It would be kinda funny if absolutely everything is mirrored like that, down to an unmentioned sister.

7:25 Not true, actually: it's was Lily's relatives whose blood would keep Harry protected (she was the one who sacrificed herself, not James), hence why Petunia was the only person he could be left with. Also, I had a bit of a realisation when J mentioned the Gaunts being descended from the second Peverell brother: he used the Resurrection Stone to bring back the girl he was going to marry but couldn't because she died, then killed himself when he couldn't bring her back properly, so... when did he have children, and with who? Because if he moved on to that extent, then he wouldn't be trying to bring that girl back in the first place.

A major miss on people we know were in Godric's Hollow: Remember Aunt Muriel who we know was a witness at the time of the fight with Grindelwald and Ariana's funeral? She was likely too young to be the mother, but what if she had family there as well? A sister? A link with the Weasleys?

The problem with Aberforth having a son when he was 15 years old is that he cares about Ariana more than his brother. I don't believe when Albus isn't really doing a good job caring for his sister, Aberforth would just hook up with another girl at the same time.

Is he a Gaunt? A Potter? You should’ve mentioned the possibility that Credence could also be from the Prince family. And therefore a descendant of Snape.

Bit of an issue with the assumption must have been in Godric's Hollow. Aberforth was 15 which means he was attending Hogwarts which means it could be anyone at Hogwarts at the time too, or indeed resident in Hogsmeade, and where do we know Aberforth lived as an adult ?.

This twin plot is referring to interest in researching Twins and siblings by German, American and Soviet scientists at that time. How connected they are, how exactly they are different, what genes differentiate what changes etc.

QUICK COMMENT SECTION THEORY: Did Aberforthe put ariana’s obscurus into his son ? There are a few discrepancies between tcog and tsod now that we know Aberforthe is Credence’s father. The prophecy from the last film fits with the line “a son cruelly banished” if they sent him away, but the “dispair of the daughter” is left out. Unless the daughter refers to Ariana - the dumbledore’s daughter. The despair would refer to her obscurus and in that way Credence is two in one (the first two lines refer to him rather than just the first). On top of that, Grindlewald tells Credence that he is Dumbledore’s brother at the end of tcog. Being so close to the family during the period when Aberforthe supposedly had a child, he would surely know that he is actually Albus’ nephew - not brother. Unless the obscurus that left Ariana’s body when she died was put into the body of Aberforthe’s son, in which case Credence is both Dumbledore’s nephew AND brother. We know Aberforthe cared for Ariana more than anyone else, and I can totally believe that he would do anything to save any part of her. But the grief could also reasonably compel him to send him away. I don’t think there are any discrepancies that can’t be explained by this theory. Lemme know if I’m being crazy.

Just a thought on why harry had to go to the dursleys. It was Lily's spell/sacrifice so it was only her blood line that would protect harry not james's side of the family. "aunt" can be a honorary designation, or it can mean "great aunt," too.

If it was Grindlewald's sister it would also add motivation for him to attack Aberforth for impregnating his sister unwed.

How do we know Credence is a Parselmouth? I've seen you mention this in other videos. Correct if I am wrong: in FB, when Credence speaks to Nagini, she is always in her human form. Does he ever speak to her in Parseltongue or while she is in snake form?

"Credence was very powerful, so he must have come from a powerful family." Like, the Dumbledores? 😁 I don't think him being powerful necessarily says anything about the mother. Muggleborns like Lily and Hermione were very powerful and their parents were powerless.

Credence's mother could be Harry's grandmother who had him before she had gotten married to Harry's grandfather. There were women who had children before they had gotten married who were forced to give them up. Also they thought that Credence had died in the shipwreck so they didn't go looking for him and Aberforth didn't find out until after Credence was discovered to be alive that he was his son. Also Credence being Harry Potter's "hidden" uncle could provide motivation for Aberforth to look out for him the best way that he knows how and also to support Dumbledore's Army when they were in hiding at Hogwarts.

Good for the story. Mcgonagall used time turner to learn the secrets of Dumbledore family while at hogwarts. Falls in love with Aberforth and gets prego. Cause it's out of timeline, she hides the secret by sending baby to America and returning to her time. Returning periodically to assist Albus at hogwarts as an instructor.

Now, I know the theory I'm about to say is going to be very far fetched but hear me out: In Fantastic Beasts 3 we find out that Credence is Aberforth's son. We also find out that Credence is dying and I'm guessing he dies before the big battle between Dumbledore and Grindelwald in 1945(Fantastic Beasts 3 is set before 1930). We get to know that Aberforth showed negligence to Credence like Dumbledore showed negligence to Ariana. But in the events of the Deathly Hallows, set in 1998, Aberforth very mad at Dumbledore for what he did to Ariana and there was also no mention of Aberforth having a son who he himself treated the same way. And Aberforth doesnt seem that big of a hypocrite so he must have forgiven or at least reduced his anger towards Dumbledore Now What If, after Grindewald is defeated, Aberforth asks Dumbledore to erase any memory of Credence(Just like Grindewald released Yusuf Kama from his memories of Leta) so that he wouldn't have to live in the pain and guilt for what he had done to Credence. This will also give a reason why Aberforth was so angry and furious at Dumbledore in 1998

I think still that a goat is the mother. The series has gone so far out there that this would be the only thing that would fit.

Added info: in old british nomenclature a first cousin once removed is also called an aunt. So Bathilda's daughter would be an aunt of Grindelwald's Sister's child.

That actually would be another case of duality if Grindelwald had two sisters since his parents would have had three children, two girls and a boy versus the Dumbledores and how they had two boys and a girl.

I recon him being a Potter fits the story better because it makes sense why he’s in the movie in the first place being a Potter and part of the prequel before Harry came along

I like the sister of Grindelwald theory. It would actually be kind of weird for a family in the 1800s not to have multiple children, and they wouldn’t really have been relevant before now, which would explain why they haven’t been mentioned prior.

I think he’s related to Snape he looks like him powerful like him and most likely a slytherin and snakes grandma was a wizard because snakes mom and dad were wizards so possibly credence is related to Snape and that would make sense on why Dumbledore trust Snape so much and wants him to do everything for him there is a reason that he likes him so much.

I have watched "Harry Poter theory's" video on this and he had three theories as to who she is. But when the super carlin brothers come up with a video, you just know it is gonna be very good or make lots of sence even if sometimes it doesn't actually happen. But I think they should just write the story lines because they are so good at coming up with ideas and theories. I'm comenting before I watch it then I will leave a review aftawards. Can't wait to watch. Keep up the great work brothers

The last one is really heavily leaning on the idea that Credence is a Parselmouth due to the fact that he can talk to Nagini. Honestly to me this seems like a bit of a stretch. At this current point, anyone could talk to Nagini as she's not a snake yet. If it's confirmed that Credence is a Parselmouth then sure, the logic could possibly check out, but it's a massive logic leap to assume that at this point in my opinion.

Or maybe it’s just a muggle girl. That would explain a lot also. In this era in history is a woman had a child out of wedlock it was very common for them to be sent away to have the child so it didn’t garnish their reputation. Also it would add a bit of context to why Aberforth and Grindlewald really struggled to get along. He had fallen for a muggle and there they are talking about how all non magical folk should be controlled or destroyed. Perhaps it doesn’t always have to be someone magical. Also you can see why the fight may have started. Dumbledore wants to travel the world in search of power but Aberforth has to stay at home to look after his sister instead of the woman he loves?

On the Gaunts, I have a theory that they arn't actually decendents of the 2nd brother. The 2nd brother is implied to have never gotten over his fiance's death which happened before they could consumate their bond. So unless he got drunk and went out on a night of debachery (which would make an heir illigitimate) or blood adopted a child or something like that there's no possible way for the 2nd brother to have an heir. Therefore either the Gaunts received the ring as a beneficiary thing in the 2nd brother's will or else a Guant was twisted enough to go grave robbing

Hey, I have a theory about the deluminator in fb I wanted to share. We know that their are many alternate realities in the wizard’s world if we think about it: platform 9 3/4, the ministries, diagon alley, and the pictures/paintings universe. The deluminator could be strong enough to either create temporarily one of these realities or access one. Anyways great video as always
