I am somewhat also.. She handles such things quite well - from the onlooker's perspective - but I don't think she sees it as onlookers\listeners do. In post-match interviews she was often uniquely funny and charming, many found her to be refreshing; and then it came out that she hated or dreaded these post-match press conferences and broke down over them for a while.

A Haitian cousin here 👏👏👏. For most non Haitians trying out Haitian food, we usually recommend “grio” if you eat pork. Spicy seasoned fried chunks of pork served with rice, fried plantains and salad. The “legume” she’s referring to is kinda similar to Indian Bhindi Masala or Baingan bharta but with more vegetables and meat (or seafood) served with rice. Delicious! Bon appétit

No pretention, no fawning over her because of her incredible Tennis victories, none of that. Sure she could use her Tennis celebrity to gain access to many, many places, receive special favors and treatment, etc., but she shuns all of that which is a testament to how she was raised by her parents. I LOVE her genuine polite, moral and ethical character. She is the sweetest tennis player I have ever witnessed and I support people as her completely. I additionally have tremendous sympathy and compassion for people who suffer mentally, specially good people as Naomi (Paula Badosa & Aryna Sabalenka also in tennis). I love that Naomi was an outright champion for some time, so it was very unfortunate her mental issues took hold of her and it showed on court. I would Love seeing Naomi make a champions-comeback in tennis.

What a marvelous person! All the best for her. Funny, my spouse was asked if her parents were home when she answered the door last year. At 54 she still has it.

I've had that "are your parents home?" thing a few times in the past it really puts them on the back foot and made it easier to get rid of salesmen.

Omygosh that’s so funny because it’s happened a few times, once at my mother in law’s house. I helped get rid of a salesman ☺️.

She's a poised delight, and a perfect advocate of the importance of self care and setting wise boundaries in the face of huge demands. And, she looks stunning here. Kudos to her stylist, if she uses one, or her own sense of style.
