It’s a shame that after succeeding with First class and days of future past - in part to Fassbender reinvigorating Magneto - fox once again screwed things up with apocalypse and then dark phoenix

I like Magneto rather because he's by far and away Marvel's best written character (not just villain, but character). He's such a believable person when handled by a decent writer that even as a villain, he really isn't very villainous, but sympathetic.

magneto is such a fascinating character with an internal struggle that is going on in him, his relationship with charles is simply astounding to watch. michael fassbender, ian mckellen did such a great job playing magneto

Love magneto! That bar scene in first class where he stabs a knife into the man's hand and then forces it into another guys stomach only to pull it back towards him and stab it back into the guys hand

Magneto is correct. Ideals-wise, but maybe murdering everyone isn't the answer. Charles is what I call the 'Batman' in this situation. So caught up in his ideals that mutants can co exist with humans that he goes blind with the death of his kind around him. Sometimes, idealism loses to being realistic.

Magneto is misinformed. If Xavier's the "Batman" of this situation, then Magneto is the "Joker" because he's giving the humans every excuse to hate all mutants. His ideals of mutant supremacy are what led to an army of Sentinels killing of every mutant on Earth so it is his fault that Xavier never saw his ideals come to fruition.

Magneto is probably the only mutant that i would want to be. Lifting whole stadium or bridges, how badass is that. Think of all the work you could do... by sitting in your chair! :D You could work as pilot, flying planes without fuel or in construction site, sending spacecrafts into space. Ah, i could dream about it all day :)

Jean has telekinesis, she can move everything including metal. So magneto is not as powerful as jean and jean also has the phoenix force.

Elias Wewel cyclops decapitated him with an optic blast to the head. then quicksilver killed cyclops by ramming a bullet into his head.

Elias Wewel Ultimate's interpretation of him was an insult to the character, and the way they killed him off was an insult to the readers. He litterally gave up all his beliefs and stopped trying to fight just because Nick Fury - played by Samuel L Jackson - told him Mutants were created by humans in a lab and were not the result of evolution then sat there as Cyclops blasted his head off. It was stupid all round.

just watched X-men Apocalypse I was so emotionally attached to his lost of his wife and daughter.. I think he is not a villian but just so damn broken about his past from his parents to his family..

I Hate The Haters yeah, the fact that the X-men detached from the Marvel universe is the reason why both the X-men franchise and Marvel cinematic universe's continuities don't make sense, Quicksilver's still alive in the X-men franchise, but his sister, the Scarlet Witch dies at a young age along with her mother in X-men:Apocalypse while Quicksilver gets killed by Ultron in Avengers:Age of Ultron while Scarlet Witch still lives long enough to take Captain America's side in Captain America:Civil War, what point is there to all that?

If you think about it, the Fassbender Magneto is correct: he uses the evidence available to arrive at his conclusion. And the evidence is pretty damning. In fact, Xavier is just an idiotic ideologue in those films, expecting mutants to do nothing even when people are trying to kill them because "peace", to accept the torture and murder of their people. Meanwhile, Magneto only attacks after being attacked, or after the gov decides to build weapons specifically to kill mutants. Designated hero and designated villain if I've seen those.

The DMatch Most don't lump him in the villain category, I don't think he enjoys what he does but he has to eat planets in order to survive. That's really like saying most predators are villainous for hunting and killing various game even though if they didn't they'd die of starvation.

ASaiyanNamedMalcolm He is definitely the most complex villain. The Master of Magnetism is perhaps my favourite villain ever, even though he is more of an anti-villain now.

Gani Ibraimi there is a difference between a villain and an anti-hero. An anti-hero will, more often than not, fight for the greater good, with questionable methods. A villain will do things for reasons usually most beneficial to himself/herself, sometimes including other like-minded people when it comes to the reward.

i like what they did with magneto within the movies in terms of his relationship with charles. The whole complex of the balance between his anger and serenity being what would keep his powers optimal as well as himself, charles grew close with him because of their time together. Later of course being heartbroken at his choices later on, i find it interesting how they made him a sympathetic villian whos goals were mislead by his vengeful philosophy.

Magneto's real powers are hard to find. His true powers are insane. He can gather the iron in your bloodstream and put it out (like being shot from the inside out) he can create magneto shields surrounding himself and protecting him from anything. And even has telekinetic and telepathic abilities. He is my favorite of all Xmen characters. He can manipulate metal on the scale of atoms. He is a fucking beast.

I don't know why, but the mainstream friendship between Charles and Magneto is so... unique and somehow heartwarming. I mean... yes, they are enemies, but yet they can rely on each other if necessary... well, at least for a while! :D It would be like Batman and the Joker... if Joker was a vigilante!

I like how despite their different views, Erick/Magneto still cares about Charles and vice versa. I also like how despite this frustration to the human race, from time to time he has done feats to save humans. He has also shown to be willing to allow humans on Astroid M as guests.

Yeah I didn't like the way he was portrayed in the first 3 X-Men movies, he was too evil and heartless. Like when he refuses to help Mystique after she loses her Mutant powers, saying "You're not one of us anymore". The Magneto from the comics would still treat her as one of his own, regardless.

Best character in marvel comics. Maybe the best in all comics. Magneto's distrust of humanity and single-minded mission to defend mutant kind by any mean required is completely understandable. Particularly, considering his back story. Such extreme belief in a cause coupled with a power level that is great enough to take down someone as mighty as Apocalypse gives Magneto the power to single-handedly crush most threats to his cause. When written properly, the master of magnetism's adventures are joy for we the reader.

I really enjoy the character, and he's one of my favorite comic book villains. Despite how intriguing his backstory is, however, ai found Magneto: Testament to be quite dusappointing. It got the intensity of the Holocaust right, but as8de from hints like Max throwing metal javelins better than any peer or finding gold coins out of the gutters with ease, his powers aren't demonstrated. It could've easily been a self-contained story if you changed the names.

I know its kinda weird but shouldn't magneto be able to affect the signals that the brain gives out as a byproduct of his mutation. My reasoning for this is that he can influence electro magnetic fields and since the human brain sends electric signals through the nervous systems to instruct the bodies other organs; shouldn't he be able to disrupt the electric signal in the brain and thereby prevent that person from completing that action if he chanced the surrounding electro magnetic field enough. Preventing that person for being able to complete that task?? Maybe like making their lungs "forget" how to breath?? I dont know if this is even right anyway its a just a theory
