On the end of a dead in street in a very prominent neighborhood sits an abandoned mansion.
A colonial style home built in the 1930s for the former mayor of the town and his wife. Not only was he the mayor but also an orthopedic surgeon. In the year 1999 he passed away and his wife had left the home abandoned to be closer to her children.
The entire property is estimated to be worth around $3.2 million dollars but unfortunately the home will need to be demolished. Let’s see what left behind.

Usually when people just walk away from their home and all their possessions it’s because of bad memories and sorrows. Sad.

Sadly most of the furniture looks warped and covered in mold. The time to do that with all the furnishings was in the first couple years before water heaters and burst pipes destroyed the home, along with elements exposure and vandals. 20 years Ago, perhaps the widow still planned to return one day....but it never happened. One could get endlessly imaginative with the story & romanticize it...as we all are. = ]

The wife, likely left it expecting to either return or the children would take care of it. Unfortunately, so many times the house is ransacked and becomes to much trouble or work to deal with. They are left either for another time or just decided to abandon. It's so sad to see a families memories left to just deteriorate. But we live in a time kids don't appreciate the past or things parents have left behind.

Since this house is set for demolition the items inside need to be auctioned off or something 🤔 mirrors and some of the infrastructure doors ,desk ,dresser chairs tables, light fixtures, lamps wow looking at the office now, bathrrom sink fixtures etc. I really hope those in charge gut this house before demo. Looking at the upstairs that's been stripped and sold most likely but that's what happens when a property's been left abandoned and none of the family takes charge of selling the assets which are left to ruin. Soo many assets dressers etc . such a shame when there's so many home owners that would actually have room for these antique s furniture, mirrors etc. This video should be titled 100 s of Thousands of Dollars of items left inside. Such a waste

The house flooded from the hot water heater in the attic or on the 2nd floor. That’s why they started gutting the Sheetrock 4ft and up. They moved most of the furniture into the playboy magazine room where the workers had removed the carpet already. This is the reason why the floors aren’t safe to walk on. The basement looks like it does cause of the water all traveled down. She was trying to get it restored. She got paid for everything in there from the insurance company cause it’s a loss. So she can take that money and do whatever with it This is my theory

The coin operated banks are rather valuable, I believe. The mold is a health concern for you to be in there. Breathing spores into your lungs can cause issues. Please consider some sort of masking for future exploration. Never understand why so much is just left behind. Hire someone to liquidate the possessions and sell the real-estate. Letting it rot is really puzzling. The proceeds could be used to pay for the services to dissolve the estate. The waste of it all is very hard to understand

Great work as usual! There are multiple layers from different periods of architectural styles in this house. The exterior and portions of the interior really look appropriate to the late 1940s as opposed to the thirties. The kitchen appears to have been remodeled at some point in the 1960s. And lever-style door handles didn't really come into vogue until the early 1990s with the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) because they are easier to open for someone with arthritis than traditional doorknobs.

It appears that not only vandals, but thieves also probably helped themselves with expensive objects, by looking at the empty glass encased shelves. AND SHAME ON ANY VANDALS AND/OR THIEVES that seem to believe other's property, is there for YOU to rip-off, vandalize, rummage through, break and destroy!! With so many bedrooms and bathrooms one would assume their were several children. If so, I would think that at least one would have taken an interest in this lovely home. But, If only a couple resided there, then I guess when you have wealth you just cannot live in a huge enough pad? Afterall, one must keep up with the Jones'es. Right? Afterall, there is enough money just to move on or be put in a Nursing Home. Perhaps. Hey Big Bankz thanks for sharing. Once again it is very unfortunate to see this amazing home left to be vandalized, ripped off, ravaged through, ripped off and last but not least Mother Nature to take her course. The old iron banks in the basement are worth some money. Also, I believe there were 3 white 10 inch original student lamp shades down there. I couldn'ttell because you didn'teven stop the camera. I can tell you what the furniture is if you STOP focusing on old clothes & trash you find. I'd like to see the furniture, the architecture, the grounds.

In my own personal opinion, you shouldn't be trying to see how much money everything possibly is which is absolutely none of anyone's business. Just please learn to appreciate the house and stop complaining. I understand wanting to see things but still, you're not creating the content and you obviously like watching it.

That make me think they take stuff because anytime it’s something expensive he focuses on it then quickly goes to focus on something less relevant like old clothes or walls

@Bobbi Lynn if it where none of our business they wouldn’t be in there showcasing it for the world to see , your right there is a reason they do, probably why you hear the girl rambling through things while he focuses on clothes and walls

This house was not built in the 1930s. If it was, you'd see lath and plaster everywhere... it is all drywall with modern electrical components so it was built somewhere between the mid 1970's up to the 1990s. It's really unfortunate to see a nice home like this fall in the state of such disrepair. The home is definitely salvageable with some work.

Nice home but I got a weird vibe from it that I can't explain. I bet that kitchen was state of the art back in the day but I found it felt gloomy. I can't understand why it was just left behind and not sold. Beautiful antique pieces and furniture left behind. Thanks for sharing BB!

Omgosh, I can’t imagine having so much money you would leave this beautiful home to rot! It looks like they hired movers and then never went back to finish. Those clothes could have been donated and the awesome antiques sold. So sad.

She's probably passed on since 1999. Her kids could at least hire someone to take those pieces out for donation. Such a waste otherwise. Beautiful items.

Sad to witness such a stately home fall into such decay. BigBankz did a great job on the emotional intro monologue. Also sad to see the house virtually ransacked....likely was broken into repeatedly, over the years. = \ Unfortunately, also seems the home went through an unfortunate 1980's remodel. Top-mount sinks, sanitist all over everything....formica counters almost everywhere....a 1930's period restoration with hidden modern tech would have been AMAZING!

The walls get cut like that when there is water damage. Could be why the wife moved out but expecting to come back. Women that age don't leave there fur coats.
