Yes, rain falls from the sky and the grass grows. When the rain stops, we have to mow it all. Joys or having a normal winter and normal winter storms. 💦💨👍

Worked out great for the bird. It can always be a problem with a rescued bird. When we moved it outside and started feeding all the local wattle birds along with Budget. That did the trick. At 50 dollars a box, it cost a bit. But 100% worth it.

I'm doing it right now in Northern New South Wales. 2 x 1.1 Kw strings. 1600ah Lead Acid 24V Victron Network. 1'C last night and a warm wood stove. Today 18'C Sunshine. My favourite time of year. Peace.

Really need to have the backups if you're on grid. The Mains power seems to go out even if you fart next to it. Damn grid is falling apart, mate. 😉👍

@@JustinCaseSolarPower The 3.5Kva Genny /50A Charger is the back-up! Off grid in the sticks, all mod cons (even a/c in Summer). Hoping to get another string up this Winter (more West facing for those Summer afternoons). Lead Acids holding up well, usually dip to 90 and never 80 S.O.C., and to Float most days.

Sounds like a tight little system. AC in summer is great. Power right from the solar panels. A bit like cheating, really. We spent the money on the systems. Anybody can do it. I for the life of me can't work out why more are not off grid.

Just cut my grass today after 2 weeks of rain! I usually use 2 batteries to cut my grass but today I had to use 8 charges of the batteries. Hopefully the heat will now come and burn the grass down.

I had one of those rain gauges and it was a pain to get the center cylinder to stay in place when putting on the lid. It had a little dome ridge in the seat where the cylinder sits and the bloody thing kept wobbling around 😆 What do they charge for a household LPG bottle? I got a quote from Hills Gas and they said $150 per bottle and $38 rental per bottle per year. I am using BBQ bottles on my house and they work fine. I go through around four per year on the house @ $36 each "delivered". Works out about the same without the rental.

LPG, last bottle was about $150. We don't pay rental at all. We paid for lifetime ownership when we built the house and had the bottles installed. That was a one-off payment. Now we just pay to have one replaced when it gets empty every 2.5 to 3 years. No problems with the rain gauge at all.
