What does being Asian have to do with saying “come on in guys?” How can a race or skin colour be offended by someone calling them a “guy?”

The bigger picture this shows is that we've created a world where people get offended by inconsequential words. The term 'guys' has commonly been used to describe both genders and it wasn't used to discriminate against anyone. We need to start teaching people to be much stronger than this so they can actually survive in the real world

This is so pathetic. why does this one random guys opinion mean more than the entire groups opinion? Why does his discomfort to the word matter more than my discomfort to the changing of the word?

Queer woman didn’t feel excluded…we’re good. Commercial break…gay guy was confused and then suddenly offended. Jeff changed it. It wasn’t a group decision at all. It was a decision to not offend a few. People are soft now, no one has tough skin. The world requires tough skin. Jeez. The world is offensive, suck it up.

jeff also assumed like 3 GUYS' genders in the opening. (TALL GUY IN THE BACK, ETC) maybe he'll address that next season.

My problem isn't that Jeff wanted to get rid of the word "guys". My problem is that he had to make this speech about it so that EVERYONE knew how "woke" he is. It's like a person who does good thing for other's , but then goes and tell everyone how much good they are doing for others. It's just tacky.

Look how happy Jeff's phrase made Saheer (pretty sure that is his name). Taking away something as iconic as "Come on in Guys" is such a crime. It is so charming and the players clearly love it. The reason they got rid of it is so stupid.

This kind of nonsense shouldn’t be tolerated by viewers and I hope they all stop watching just like everyone that I know who’s going to stop watching. I love Survivor, I have never missed an episode, we have watched it as a family for 20 years, we have Survivor night, I applied twice but was never selected. I'm a super fan. Now sadly, I have just deleted it from my DVR que, I can't watch it.. I couldn't wait for the new season post COVID, to just escape for one hour a week and Outwit, Outplay and Outlast. Jeff Probst has hit the gym and looked awesome, I was pumped, I was excited and on the edge of my seat and then.....Survivor went Woke. I have Gay friends and family and I love them all, but that is their private lives and they keep it private, as I keep my sex life private. Survivor went too far and I will no longer watch my beloved SURVIVOR. I wish only the best to Jeff and Survivor Crew, but I'm done, this was the straw that broke the camel's back. 20 year viewer. I’m in my 50’s and have been with the show since day one. But after this episode, and all that woke nonsense; I swore off Survivor for good. Pandering to the woke crowd will be the death knell for Survivor. Nothing gold can stay.

This is how the English language and language in general goes. Words can change and/or have different meaning depending on the context. Any one that speaks English understands that “guys” refers to “everyone” the way Jeff uses it.

I've been a survivor fan since the first season. Watched every season, some multiple times. I stopped watching at the moment they made this decision and will never watch again. The people on this season talked and talked about generations of watching this show. One person was "offended" by a phrase that has been a part of the show for decades and suddenly it is gone. Not one of these so called generational fans stood up for tradition including Probst. Bunch of cowards. Same goes to all who kept watching.

After discovering Australian Survivor last year. OG Survivor episodes felt rushed, with poor sportsmanship, and lack luster in almost everything that made Survivor what it is. Now with woke-ism getting shoved into my face. Allowing one person to make a huge change to a 20 year running show. (At least a twitter poll would have been more forgiving.) Ruining it for everyone, except for the 10,000 blue haired and/or weirdly shaved sjw's that watch it. Sealed it's fate to viewer loss like so many other shows. Robbing great entertaining people the chance to play the game. Giving in to very recent woke culture. Picking people because of their race and gender to please woke-ism. Leading to likely boring players. Instead of who could give us, the viewers, the best entertainment. In return, giving Survivor the most profit. Simply makes me incredibly disappointed. Everything is getting ruined. We don't need this crap shoved in our face 24/7. We get it! You people exist! Stop ruining years of OG entertainment and start making your own shows! They wanted to just get married they said. We see now where all that went. Sad thing is the other Survivor contestants can't even be upset about it/talk about it, because they'll get blasted on social media and "cancelled" for having an opinion. Simply not doing anything would have kept Survivor fans. Now they probably lost at least a million viewers. I'll play this season out, but I'll probably just stick to Australia Survivor moving forward.

I heard Jeff say guys when addressing the group in other contexts multiple times. Clear pandering. Didn't Survivor learn to steer clear of politics during the "me too" season? We're not interested. I always thought Jeff was an irreplaceable host on Survivor, but I honestly wouldn't mind a new host after that embarrassing display. Then again, he did tell us he would never read our feedback anyway so I know I'm just preaching to the choir. I was belly laughing at how Xander worked in the butterfly phrase at the challenge. Hilarious twist! The elements of the game they added are great, as well as most of the cast this season. It's just the "woke-ness" that is making my eyes roll.
