Suspect who killed Kaylin Gillis in wrong driveway charged with murder

Somebody pointing a gun at you? You aren’t going to leave if he’s saying stay where you are. Some people aren’t interested in you leaving - they are interested in their power trip. Problem is, you have to warn someone off before they can be arrested for trespass, so at that point this is now unlawful detention, and maybe kidnapping if you make them move (say from their car to your porch or lawn).

Why should a person be arrested for merely protecting his property. These people trespassed on this elderly man's house. How was he supposed to know that they didn't pose a threat. Where he lives there's poor cellphone coverage so we don't know how long it would've taken for the Authorities to respond. If these trespassers were a threat they could've killed him. This is a act of self defense.

Explain to us what threat a car full of teenagers is since they never left their car and were leaving the driveway after noticing that they were at the wrong place. I mean based on the POLICE report, they did NOT have an opportunity or motive to do anything besides leave. I guess the homeowner saw that the teenagers were mutants and feared that they use their mutant power to make him dance under the moonlight. 🙄🙄

@@drakensberg.multimedia Nice but if you visit the USA regularly you are exposed to this kind of problem too, i live in Mexico but go often to Texas, but seriously doesn´t feel safe to visit or shop at stores or packed places anymore and basically now you have to be careful with your neighbors too. We have a strong economy, good labour laws, universal health care, are safe, and the government continues to provide programs that strengthen society. Besides, Canada has so much natural beauty, which I still haven't seen it all, and great friendly people!👍🏼If we do go out of the country, then there's other cultures we'd rather enjoy instead of American. It's always been an illusion.

My girlfriend and I just got back from vacation in Puerto Rico. We were driving and lost connection to our GPS and got lost. At one point we pulled into a driveway to make a U turn and immediately the homeowners came out and asked if we were okay and proceeded to invite us in for coffee with bread and butter. It was getting dark so we declined, but what a contrast to what is going on here in the states. My late father who grew up in the lower east side of Manhattan loved driving the family to the Catskills during the summers until one day there was a disabled vehicle and traffic on the road and he made a U turn and part of his tired touched someone's lawn/curb. A white male shot out of his porch with a huge knife in a holster and started threatening my father with us in the car. That was the last trip we took up there. What is wrong with our country?? why are white people so hateful?? It's' so sad.

Missouri has a strong castle law. The kid attempted to open the front door of the home and was shot. Doesn't matter if it was a mistake or intentional. The law is on the homeowners side. If he would have never touched the door handle the homeowner would have been charged

Next it's going to be a food delivery driver at night trying to find the correct address on a dark street, in the rain. Please if you order delivery make sure your house number is clearly visible from the street. If your address is really hard to find give instructions for the driver. Also please, please tip your driver. Gig delivery driver earn 50% of their income from tips, without those tips no one would do gig delivery.

Condolences to the victims family and friends. This is sad. There are alot of homes that are hidden along narrow country roads all over the country. Driveways are extensively long and look like part of a road and difficult to find an address unless you are familiar with area. No reason to shoot any car that is trying to find its way out of the property . What happen to asking the people in the car if they are lost and need directions?

If you've ever driven through Hebron, NY, it is a lovely, bucolic, pastoral looking community. You would on first glance find it unimaginable that this type of thing could happen there. When a man is so criminally violently overprotective of his home, acting violently and shooting innocent people that wrongfully pass by, he must be hiding something in his property or home he is afraid someone will know. Law Enforcement should get a search warrant and check his home. He could be doing illegal business from his home like drug dealing, he could be trafficking with people, could have people in a basement, he could be hiding weapons. Anything he doesn’t want anybody to know about.

@@Jessica-gy6kr If you've paid any attention to similar stories with African Americans, someone will always imply that they have a criminal record even though there is no evidence that they are criminals. Go look in the comment section for Ralph Yarl who by all reports was a high school kid in band & not some hardened criminal. That is my point. It is clear evidence that there is a double standard. African American have to live with an assumption of guilt even when there is no evidence for it. No one ever assumes caucasians are criminals unless there is evidence for it.

Rest in Peace to this young woman. I was moved to tears when I first heard this and the story of the 16 year old shot by the 84 yr old. with the wrong turn case, I wonder if he is hiding something else and/or involved in some illegal crime ring and thought these were his opponents.

When you live in a country where the majority of its citizens have access to weapons you don't focus your time on banning weapons, you focus your time on doing public announcements on laws on how to use your weapon. In most cases you can't just shoot someone just because they're trespassing on your property.

I hope they convict and lock him up forever. There is no reason for what he did. I don’t care what his motivation was or what he imagined he needed to be fearful of. Hopefully, his lawyer will get him to plead guilty and take the just punishment he deserves.
