Suzuki Address 110 - How to Adjust the Valve Clearances

In this video we check and adjust the valve clearances on the Suzuki Address 110.
Valve clearances should be taken with a stone cold engine.
Inlet gap should be 0.04mm - 0.08mm
Exhaust gap should be 0.12mm - 0.16mm

There are marked on the sprocket of the camshaft, so no need to see a Mark on the generator! Saves a lot of time. Greetings from the Netherlands!

Great stuff. Glad to hear it! Someone pointed out to me yesterday that there was a better/specific type of oil for CVT scooters yesterday. I’ve pinned the comment on my servicing video. It might be worth looking for the right stuff, although my bike is running just fine on what I put in 👍

Great vid. I got the YamXJR 1200 that I have had for 19 years. But am looking to get either the Suzuki address or Honda wave. For hassle free fun. Small bikes are Great for the grin factor.

I totally agree with you. Big bikes have their place, but they’re not the only way to have fun. I ride my big bike pretty steadily, and I ride my Address and little Honda CG125 at full throttle more or less everywhere outside of town. They make me a better rider, and they’re tremendous fun. You won’t go far wrong with either the Address or the Wave, but I can thoroughly recommend the Address 👍

@@MechitBetter Mine still has warranty and I am trying to sell mine soon because I want more power. But now I know what it looks like and that it is not that much work (if you know what you are doing). Not sure what the next one will be. Maybe NMAX 155, maybe XMAX 250 or Beverly 350. More valves to check. ;) I like the Address 110 but it lacks power compared to the other traffic. For in town it is perfect, outside that (where I also use it) I really need something bigger.

Hi, thanks for the video. I just wondered where you get the data from? I'd like a decent service manual for this bike but can't find one anywhere! Where did you find out about the valve clearance specs? It's not that I don't trust you, I just want to have the data for myself such as torque settings etc. Thanks.

Fantastic clip lads! Out of interest, were the clearances out by much at all? I’ve got a huge 200kms on mine will look to do around 1000kms.

Cheers. The clearances were within tolerance, but the previous owner was the main dealers son, so it may have been done before I did it. I would check yours for yourself for peace of mind 👍

Hi Hugh. Thanks for your comment. To answer your question… it depends what information you’re looking for. There isn’t (to my knowledge) a comprehensive workshop manual for the Address. However, all the basic servicing instructions are shown in the handbook that comes with the bike. In fact it’s probably the best handbook I’ve ever seen for detail and coverage of servicing jobs 👍

It means your battery is low on charge. Try to re-charge it if you can. It may need replacing if the problem continues. Good luck!

The valve clearance measurement can be found in the sticker under the seat. It can also be found in the manual.

By chance you don't know if the Address has an idle adjustment screw do you? I keep stalling when coming to a stop, but being injected, not so sure there is an idle adjustment? Can't see anything obvious once I remove the seat? Cheers

The idle is all set by the bike. There shouldn’t be any manual adjustment. It might be worth taking out and cleaning your lambda sensor. I removed the lambda as part of another video. I think possibly the rear brake shoes video 🧐

@@MechitBetter Thanks very much, yes, figured as much - def seems like a sensor, as otherwise bike is running like a swiss clock! I'll give it a try and see if it makes a difference, it just dies down to idle when coming to a stop, and won't pick up again and just stalls - but starts right back up, intermittent though, but happening more and more! @@MechitBetter Will do, yes I did ask there, and a few others have experienced similar symptoms, will pull it out, and give it a good clean this weekend. The bike has only done 1000kms, so if it's faulty I'll be pissed off, but bugger if I'm going to pay for servicing at $$$$, this is where this video series of yours is superb! I have a funny feeling it is sensor related, checked all linkages, cables and everything else I could find. Could be valve clearances I guess as well, have not checked as yet.

Does it run alright other than the cutting out? How’s the top speed? If the valve clearances are out then top speed is probably lower than it should be. With a trained ear you can even hear if the valves are out.

Hi guys, I think your videos for the Suzuki address are very helpful and informative. I brought a Suzuki address 110 2016 and I am having a few issues, it was standing for about two to three months as I was unable to ride it due to ill health. I am much better, and tried to start it, it did start but it keeps stalling when idling, and very sluggish when twisting the throttle. tried to take it for a ride thinking it would clear it self but it kept stalling as I came to a stop at every junction. Would you guys have any helpful information on how I can solve this issue. Thank you.

Cheers. Thanks for watching. It sounds like your petrol might be causing you problems after being stood. The first thing I’d do is try to drain the tank and put a full tank of fresh fuel in to see if it runs any better. I might even add a bottle of injector cleaner at the same time. If that doesn’t fix it then I’d have to think of plan B 😁

Thank you for your reply. I tried what you suggested with the fuel, replaced it with fresh fuel and added an additive, took it for a long drive and it is still stalling as I come to a stop. If you have any more ideas please let me know so I can try something different. Thanks again.

Sorry to hear you’re still having problems. What does the spark plug look like? I’m wondering if it’s got a bit rusty or has deposits on it? For the cost I’d replace the plug and see about that. It’s a tricky one though. It could be any number of things unfortunately.

Cheers! There’s no clutch as you would expect on a manual bike. I’m not sure why the wheel turns a little but it’s normal I think 👍

I would check throttle cable boots and do an adjustment. I'm not sure how does that dry shoe, automatic, centrifugal type clutch work. Useful stuff anyway, your videos. Cheers.

The steering on my Address is out form riding it hard. If you guys could do a steering alignment video that would be awesome. Couldn't find anything in the owners manual to adjust it.
