Suzuki GT380 Wiring & electronic ignition

Fitting the oem front loom and creating a new rear loom on the GT380.
Also fitting a Boyer Bransden electronic ignition system, this uses the same stator as a KH250 so some 'adjustment' is required to get it to fit.
Aftermarket regulator/rectifier connected in place of separate oem units.

Wiring is one of my favourite parts of a build! Just take you time, study the wiring diagram and label stuff.

Good luck, I hope yours came more complete than mine, I has many parts missing/incorrect and has been very time consuming and expensive to find them.

@@InTheShedUK Thanks! Yes mine is one owner and had been in a garage since 1980 all there all original but seat was changed out for lower profile. 11000 miles but it is locked up from sitting going to put some marvel mystery oil in cylinders and just let soak in.

Customary to find the ignition control box under the seat or somewhere up top its dry side.

The control box is a sealed potted unit, I am sure it will be fine in any location.

I had to replace my headlight and bucket as I could not get an OEM sealed beam light. Now I am having trouble matching up the connectors. I do not see colors well and I want to be sure I have the connections right.

Hi, yes I got the wiring diagram from this website: www.oldjapanesebikes.com/mraxl_GT_Resource/manuals/electrical/gt380b.html for version with gear indicator. Or www.oldjapanesebikes.com/mraxl_GT_Resource/manuals/gt380man/index.php for version with neutral indicator only. Good luck with your rebuild.
