The KO is the highlight of the sport, and it is smart for a fighter to be able to end the contest before the sceduled time if he can. However, the safety of both fighters is the most important thing. My point in my statement was that ottke has a well below average KO ratio, and out of only 6 he has 2 brutal KO's. This one, where he knocks the guy out and sends him to the hospital, and the other one where he knocks mundine unconscious.

@ConradHeinrich 100% Agree. Boxing don't need any WWE fans or ppl who think this technical sport should look like a Rocky movie!!! Ward just said it after beating Abraham 120-108 and Mayweather have been saying it for a long time. Theres nothing great in taking punishment. Hit and don't get hit.

Whenver Ottke sat behind his punches he had power. It wasn't his stye though, he tended to box on his toes. A fine technician and good champ who stayed on too long though when his legs had gone. With this style that isn't possible. His final few fights were ugly.

Only an undefeated IBF & WBA super middleweight world champion. I remember he also beat a row of US punchbags. Right?

lvlarcuk, Obviously you didnt realize the "Witness the power of Sven Ottke" tag was a joke.

Pffft, he frequently ducked Joe Calzaghe, has so many questionable, gift decisions and controversies under his belt (the Robin Reid fight being the most obvious) that to even defend Ottke as a champion is nothing short of ridiculous.
@cstrait14 жыл бұрын
what an obviously fixed fight. ottke should never appear in public again.
@sigwart14 жыл бұрын
For a guy with only 6 ko's in 35 fights, he had 2 highlight KO wins. Natasha rigozina would've KO'd nardiello with one punch.

beat? uhhhh, no! sven ottke lost at least 7 fights. wilfried sauerland makes don king look like mother teresa as far as stealing decisions for his fighters. if i were sven ottke, i would not be able to sleep at night, knowing in my heart how many times i benefitted from robbery. just ask charles brewer (twice!), robin reid, mads larsen, glen johnson, byron mitchell, and rudy markussen. ottke was a contender with a good chin, and decent skills. that's all!

@zixim you are absolutely right, Germany had so many better fighters than this phoney. He´s a disgrace for a long line of honest fighters from a proud boxing country

If only Calzaghe could have fought Ottke in a neutral venue like USA then we would have seen Ottke for the bum he was. His "knockout" wins were against two bums in Mundine and Nardiello who had glass temples. Few fighters get knocked out with shots like that.....it makes you wonder if they were offered money to dive? Calzaghe is a legend. Ottke has been retired for 6 years and even though time is kind to retired fighters - Ottke is still regarded as a cheating fraud.

Nardiello should be banned from boxing for trying to hit Ottke in the face.

Sven was a crook who got hometown gifts his whole career. A disgrace to boxing.

He was an outstanding amateur fighter, that can be proved in his amateur record. But as a pro?! Please share that stuff you´re smokin, if you´re dum enough to believe the Sauerland propaganda.
