In this short video we show a comparison of the same Jeep traversing an obstacle with the sway bars connected and again disconnected. This shows a good example of the benefits that come from disconnecting. This is a 2020 JLU Sport S on 33" tires and a 2.5" lift with Teraflex Sway Bar Quick Disconnects. We have now switched the Apex autoLynx Sway bar disconnects. They are much easier/faster to disconnect/reconnect, especially when the Jeep is muddy.

This is a really good example of the side to side comparison. My FJ bounced it’s way through that obstacle when I hit it! Front sway bar still on and all… 😆

Not to mention occupant comfort! It allows more energy to transfer between the shocks and springs and less into your seat!

Do you only disconnect front sway bar links?

Yes, the rear axle typically doesn’t have as much room for articulation. I would be concerned about too much instability unless it was a rock crawler buggy.

Is it possible to disconnect the sway bar while in 2 wheel drive? For a rubicon

Not with a stock setup. It is possible with the Tazer JL. We have a JLU Sport and use manual disconnects.

How do you disconnect the sway bar with the Teraflex sway bar disconnect

The Teraflex has a pin you take out and the then you swing the sway bar link up to a bracket. @@bobcat718 The Teraflex is easier than unbolting the regular ones, but the Apex autoLynx are very easy.
