Just caught this video the other day. Yesterday I tried some more sumac tea without mashing the berries and it was much sweeter this time. Thanks.

Love this, made it often as a boy scout in Michigan. I think I'll grow some now in the yard.

nice! I just learned about sumac berries/tea and husband is bringing me home a bag of berries tonight. I make a lot of tea (herbal, green, black, blooming, fruit, etc) and I have found that hot water will ruin a tea, steeping too long will ruin a tea and the hot and long steeping make it bitter. I look forward to having some wild sumac tea tonight! thanks for the video. :)

Thanks for the video. Those trees grow plentifully here in NW Georgia, and I remember that tea as far back as my childhood days.

I'm only one minute and 38 seconds into this video and so far you're the smartest one I've seen do this your video number 3 that I'm watching and everyone else just puts it in a glass with water to smash it the way you do it seems away smarter and I've never heard of sumac before the first video. I want some.

Billy a little bug won't hurt you it is protein, lmao good tip, I have propagated lots of the sumac trees for sale, you have to heat the seeds not boiling them but they have a wax coating on them and will hinder the germinating and works better when it is removed.

in the Middle East cuisines sumac is use as a condiment simply , wait until the sumac berry dries up and grind the skin of the berry then sprinkle on onions , in the Middle East they used to use Stone grinding Mills Google the following you see it Two women of Palestine Grinding at the mill Palestine . they're used in the Shawarma sandwich , you could easily make a business out of it selling some mac two Middle Eastern grocery shop

Thanks for this excellent video showing the right way to do it! There's some crazy ones out that produce a really vile, disgusting beverage! The first one I ever read said to put the whole cones into a pot of water and bring it to a boil, mashing with a potato masher, then strain it. To be kind I'll just say that the result was not something most people would drink more than once.

Is it smooth or staghorn
@billyjoedenny7 жыл бұрын
its very smooth if you don't bruse the berry,,, and it is called stag horn summac
@dixietarian2 жыл бұрын
If the berries have hairs on them then it is likely from staghorn sumac.
