I was living in Los Feliz in LA in the mid nineties - this movie completely captured the time and place. Vince Vaughn as Trent is legendary and rewatchable. Vaughn's best performance.

Sometimes I wish I had seen this movie when I was younger. It really helped me make sense of my feelings after a relationship I was in broke down. For the longest time I couldn't let go of what I thought could have been something great. In my own life, I had yet to learn that sometimes it's more important to live for the moment and to not miss those chances which are right in front of you. Our old love's may not fade, but you must let new one's take their place, in order to grow and move on.This story beautifully distills what it means to feel love and loss as a young man. To me it is a must watch for any guy whose had his heart-broken. It helped heal mine.

LOL... the swing revival. By the time we all learned how to swing dance (and yes, a *lot* of dudes took swing dancing lessons at the time) it was gone. Really thought it was gonna last longer. It was our 2nd lesson on how trends come & go; the 1st was Grunge. Thought we'd all be in plaid shirts drinking coffee & having long unwashed hair forever. Then it was Jenko jeans, Vans, oversized wallet chains and bleached tips. Man... what a trip.

I think it's supposed to be implied that Mike is just down in the dumps and depressed. Trent says "your the fun loving out going party guy" and he seems to know all the bars and door guys. Interestingly.....and probably without meaning to do so......Doug Liman captured the mid to late ‘90s between Swingers and following it up with GO.....both films had a backdrop that featured subcultures that finally broke through to mainstream....I guess you’d have to take Cameron Crowe’s SINGLES to cover the early ‘90s.....

Just watched this movie after a long term breakup by complete chance because I wanted to watch a good rewatchable episode. Its nice to know universal feelings aren’t your own and this movie does a great job at describing the nuances of friendship and breakups. Now I get to watch this 🙏

They really know how to oversell movies. I mean, Swingers is a good rewatchable movie but that's it. It's not one of the best movies of that era. From that year alone you had Fargo, Trainspotting, Breaking The Waves, Sling Blade, Hard Eight, Secrets and Lies, Bound, Drifting Clouds, La Promesse, A Summer's Tale, Sleepers, Pusher, Bottle Rocket. And on and on, it's just one of the many, many good movies
