I bought one recently and didn't bother to read the instructions first, naturally, and aligned it to hit my right forearm, which is what you described in #5, and found it actually worked great at helping me to hit more from the inside. At first it felt kind of funny, but after working with it for 10-15 minutes and then hitting some shots with it, I found I was striking the ball much better, and I think it was because by maintaining the contact between the swingyde and my right forearm, it was forcing the club to come into the ball on a very inside path, which is something that improved my contact significantly.

Thanks for taking the time to let me know how the swingyde has gone for you. I don't recommend training aids very often but the swingyde is an exception. I have been using it with clients for over 20 years and I get no kickback from swingyde at all and I don't even sell them. I just love the fact you can see instantly what you need to do and you get instant feed back. The rest either hits your forearm or not. Keep me posted on how it is working for you. Happy new year to you. Brian

My pleasure. There are some very cheap copies out there. Some are even using snippets of my videos to make it look like I endorse their product. One is even called "The Golf Doctor". The cheek of some people. Look for the original Swingyde. PS. I don't sell training aids and have never been paid to promote any product. I just like the product. I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Brian

+David Leigh Good Morning David. The beauty of the Swingyde is it is always relevant. Some training aids you buy and use for a week and that is it. I have had mine for 25 years and I still use it. Did you survive the wedding and FA Cup?
@davidleigh25736 жыл бұрын
fitzygolfpro hi Brian thanks for the reply. Yes the wedding was good.My youngest daughter and family went to Windsor and joined the crowd .She loved it. My eldest daughter ,her family my wife and I watched on tv together and then the FACup which as a neutral was quiet good. The grand kids then spent time in their hot tub so a great day was had by all. Kind regards David

You need to also add one of the best features of the SwingGyde and that’s if you keep it in contact with your left arm as late as possible in the downswing, it will help with an early release/casting.
@fitzygolfpro4 жыл бұрын
You are right with that one Scott. Thanks for sharing. It will be in another video I will make on the Swingyde if we can ever get back to a golf course again. It really does have so many uses. I hope you are well. Brian

I use it as in figure 1. I started swinging too flat as I call it, then I would have to hit off the toe. I can hit it on the sweet spot with a more upright swing plane. My instructor calls it early cast but i don't believe him.

Just look for The Swingyde and you will be ok. Have a great Christmas and I hope you enjoy my content. Brian

Hi Brian, I borrowed one of these, attached to an orange whip. Is that recommended or should I stick it on an iron? If so which iron? Normally practice full swings 1/2 the time with and 8i and intersperse the bag the other 1/2 of the time.
@fitzygolfpro4 жыл бұрын
James Davis hi James. I wouldn’t recommend attaching the swingyde to the orange whip as they are designed to work on different elements of the swing. You can attach it to any club but I usually stick to a 6,7 or 8 iron. I have used it on a driver for some clients. It is quite versatile and has so many uses. I encourage a lot of 3/4 shot work with a slow tempo early in the session and then pick different targets with different clubs later in the session. I am working on something that might help in the next week. Stay tuned. Brian

Hi, Brian. I have used mine, not enough, probably. Can you advise on the problems caused when I flatten my lead wrist? The gyde comes away from my forearm.
@fitzygolfpro4 жыл бұрын
Hi Keith. Thank you for your question. As I can't see what you are doing exactly I am going to keep my answer to your question general. A flat left wrist on the back swing can cause any of the following to occur. Very low ball flight, a tendency to hit hooks, a tendency to hit slices, ball contact toward the neck or hosel of the golf club, shanks and soreness in your left wrist. It all depends on how you compensate, how strong your core is, how strong your left hand is (if you are right handed. The players that have a flat left wrist like Dusting Johnson have being doing it since they were kids and that is the only way they know how so they have found a way to make it work. If you are happy with the results you get with your flat left wrist I suggest you don't change it. Focus on other areas of golf to make you better. If you do want to change it the swingyde is a great tool to help you improve it. I hope this helps. Brian

Hi Brian I just bought one of these, I'm just starting back my golf after Lockdown and I'm struggling with club face control at the top of my swing and I'm trying to go from cupping my wrist to slightly bowed for consistency also I'm trying to stop rolling the club on takeaway. Will this help ?? Many thanks from Scotland
@fitzygolfpro4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. The Swingyde is perfect for that. Ensure you fit if correctly this is really important. Watch the DVD that accompanied it. I encourage my students to use it for slow practice swing first without balls. This helps in getting the right feeling of how to get in the right position. Then progress to hitting some half shots and then work up to full swings. Then repeat the cycle. Best of luck with it. Brian

@@fitzygolfpro thanks Brian really appreciate your help, I've been commenting and watching your videos for a long time now, I've really lost my way with my swing and I'm hoping this will help, how long do you think I should use it for? And should I expect any shanks or bad shots while using it ? Many thanks.
@fitzygolfpro4 жыл бұрын
It is such a good training aid I still use it every once in a while for myself. I used it last week after 2 months of not playing. If you are really struggling like you say I would seriously consider a golf lesson from a reputable golf coach in your area. That would be the fastest way to get back on track. This swingyde is great but it won't do the total job for you. Brian

@@fitzygolfpro I'm booked in for one next Friday Brian, long story short I was hooking bad and was shown a swing to stop me hooking and went back to hitting a cut and slice, so my teacher tried to get me to bow my wrist but I struggle with my takeaway and tend to toll the club with my wrists and swing really flat and have struggled getting any hight to my swing I've been playing around with it today and .going to the range tomorrow with it. Because I swing flat I come over the top really bad but I've never known how to takeaway and set my wrists properly, it's frustrating but all I want to do is play golf to a reasonable level I've invested so much into my game and just feel so down about not being able to play the game I love.

How are they "additional" uses. Indeed, saying the same thing 3 times using different words, or doing it with only one hand instead of both, does not constitute 3 different uses. So instead of 5 its more like 2, if that.

the problem is that it puts your left wrist cupped at the top of backswing no good

You can just twist it on the grip so it lines up with a left wrist with more flexion at the top.
