I actually don't know if that's good or bad, because his audience always sounds like they'r responding more to a prompter off-camera than to any real knowledge about the facts. The indictment was passed by a grand jury - not a faction, not a political party - but Fox and the whole MAGA coven are going to play it up like it's all to THEIR advantage. "We're more energized than ever". Well, so is the rest of the country - because we're tiring fast of these assaults on our democracy.

I was stationed at an Air Force base in Florida in the mid 60's. The state was begging Disney to come there and build a "DisneyWorld". Too many Florida natives were going to California for Disney so, Florida gave them the land. DeSantis was just a kid back then, looks like he hasn't grown up very much since then.

@@brochurst8318 That's the point. That wasn't your normal "laugh" prompt like when hosts first start a show or when coming back after a commercial. It was genuine applause before he could even finish what he was saying. They were hearing it for the first time. It's similar to when they spontaneously booed at other points. That wasn't prompted either. Pure gold indeed.

I´m part Jewish from a country that Germany invaded and terrorized. My grandfather was forced to work in a German factory, my great-grandfather was forced to clean up human remains when a tram was hit by a bomb. Yet somehow, lots of people whose families Germans never hurt hold much bigger grudges than me. COME ON, IT´S BEEN 78 YEARS! Nope, it ain't the first time it happened. There's one particular LSSC Monologue, post-"A Late Show" and Pres. Biden in office, that Stephen did mention 45's surname as he reinforced the fact that 45 is (if memory serves me right) fascist, and that was probably the last time Colbert mentioned 45 in that way until this indictment came to play. This one, though, is gratifying for Colbert to just say his name again as he (I mean) they want him basically out of their sight so much.

Well considering the 45th President himself said that ~$2-3 billion of his net worth originates with his surname and brand, it makes perfect sense why we don't want to say his name to give him free advertisement/recognition/fame. Now that it seems likely that we'll not see this stain of a human being (or his "business") again for a few years, it's okay to advertise them with the intention of making the brand implode.
