This is a great mod to do if you don’t like the look of a snorkel and want to get better quality air for your engine. This is especially a great mod if you don't have any inner fender liners and want to keep debris out of your factory air box! Like, subscribe, and hit that bell notification for the latest updates on DIY and wheeling videos!

Good idea u should use some of that fender trim edging on the 3” fire wall side put it on then the bracket and that will seal it

I went use FLEX Drain 4 in. Copolymer End Cap from Home Depot to plug the hole in the wheel well.

Yeah that's a great way to do it. For me, it didn't really make sense to spend money on the plug part because I'll be cutting that area back higher for clearance.

Why wouldn’t you just slide the intake mount through the hole so you’re not having to rely on sealer. And it’s only tubes connected … this baffled me but great work

Are you referring to the side on the air box, cowl, or both? And the intake mounts are actually bolted through on both ends. Sealer is just to seal it to the opening as extra assurance

The holesawed hole should’ve never been apart of the actually integrity of the sealing. By that I mean. You should bolted the mount so the mount is on the inside on the intake with the mount coming through the hole instead for you to connect to, instead of bolting to the outside and sealjng around it, I’m probably over thinking it all though

8 months later how did this work out?? I’ve been thinking of something similar… but behind the firewall is the interior. Do you hear a lot of air noise behind the dash on throttle?

Still happy with it actually. I did make an update and replaced the pipe with 3” flex tubing to make the routing look cleaner. As for the noise, my exhaust and tires drown out any of the small noises. I feel like I can kinda hear some air being sucked in but it’s hard to say.

@@LuauTaco excellent thank you. My concern is the noise only. Looks like a nice install though and I think I may give it a go.
