The 2018 King Salman FIDE World Rapid Championship is a 15-round Swiss open taking place in St. Petersburg, Russia from 26-28 December. The prize fund is $350,000, with $60,000 for 1st place. The time control is 15 minutes per player for all moves, with a 10-second increment from move 1. If there is a tie for 1st place, the top two players will compete in a play-off match consisting of two 3+2 blitz games.
If the score is still level, the players play a sudden death or Armageddon game. The player who wins the drawing of lots may choose the color. The player with the white pieces gets 5 minutes to Black's 4 (with a 2-second increment after move 60), but a draw counts as a win for Black. Official website: wrbc2018.com/en

For historical accuracy, the very first "sip of water" occured on the day Agadmator shared a wonderful message from a very nice looking lady. It seems that a sip of water is an excellent way to conceal a very excellent smile.

Agadmator as a Partner: *wife is not talking to him* So what's the idea here? Well, as you can see, I did not buy her the diamond ring she casually remarked she liked, which means now she will give me the cold shoulder for a week. It was a mild inaccuracy. But it has cost me the match.

And it was in this position that Antonio resigned the relationship Why did he resign the relationship? Well after his partner played passive aggressive pin to materialism, any move he plays, say buy flowers instead, or stick around with ideas of it getting better, his life is getting checkmated...you cannot simply buy the diamond as after you sac the money, crazy wife is coming, you are just losing. So yeah, a very interesting blitz shopping day from Antonio, I hoped you enjoyed it.

i dont know which part you are talking about but im assuming you are talking about the position at 3:04. you win a rook and a pawn with your combination by giving up a bishop and a knight, which is generally not favorable . also, the rook is not doing anything on a8 which makes it a worthless piece to take, while your bishop on g2 and knight on c5 are active pieces.
@Samousis
@Samousis 5 жыл бұрын
@@bleach4038 uhh actually it was if Firouzja moved his knight after Magnus tried to kick it away. Because agadmator didnt mention this line. Sorry for the incomplete comment. (Btw i think he'll take 2 pawns and the rook)
@bleach4038
@bleach4038 5 жыл бұрын
Mazakaolas Te-he ah I see. I looked wrong and you’ll actually gain 2 pawns. But the rook isn’t active, so why trade off your active pieces? I think firouzja wouldn’t mind sacrificing one pawn of magnus gives up 2 of his strong pieces for one useless corner rook.

@@140TrillionSuns In case you're referring to how we know that there is someone who's better than Tal (in this case Carlsen) there's ELO rating. It's computers who have calculated at what strength certain players play during their matches, and Carlsen (and a lot of other players) score a lot better than Tal, making them objectively stronger chess players (meaning that it's not up for discussion, it's a fact)

It is always hard to analyse blitz games. Both players make mistakes and the one who makes the last mistake loses the game. As an amateur I learn nothing from these games, it is so different. Sadly these games (rapid) ended the WC. It is like the WC of darts ends in a draw and then the players have to throw with their other hand (and blindfolded) to decide who is the new WC. It makes no sense.

I personally think that when you're playing blitz that there always "two best moves" for example: Carlsen still won due to massive advantage. I don't think that finding mate in time pressure is always possible. Also, It much easier to find "best moves" after you already played or if you're simply watching the game, the bad moves, or less betters move in question are extremely difficult to find in the lime light. Lastly, Carlsen is still one of the best chess players who ever lived and I love just seeing and learning all the new tips/tricks that can be picked up from just sitting down and enjoying all the new refreshing content agadmator has to offer.
