Hi friends, we got fresh bamboo shoots from our local market, so I am sharing our family’s traditional ‘Takeno ko gohan’ (Takeno ko means bamboo shoots and gohan means rice)
Takeno ko gohan ingredients;
4 cups of white rice
400 grams of cooked bamboo shoots
1 pack of abura age or fried tofu
1 piece of chicken leg meat
To taste:
4 tablespoons of brown sugar
4 tablespoons of Japanese soy sauce
2 tablespoons of sake
1 sachet of dashi (Hondashi)
Pinch of salt
800 ml of water
TIPS for this food:
If you use 4 cups of rice- use 4 cups of the broth
** if you have fresh bamboo shoots- use the water from the rice you washed to boil the bamboo shoots,
and then boil the bamboo shoots for 30 minutes to one hour
