Variety is the spice of life ~ the blending of flavors is what makes the meal gourmet ~ allowing time for your mind wander enhances not only your studies but also who you are as a person. Music and art also allow our minds to process information in alternate ways. Taken as a whole ~ in the fullness of time ~ we become better versions of ourselves when we make variety and balance the main ingredients in the recipe of our lives

I was using duolingo for french and italian and I was doing it every day for almost a year because I wanted to keep my streak going but it started to become something I was rushing to do because I felt like I HAD TO do it instead of wanting to do it so I stopped using it all together and I just use Babbel now but only 4 or 5 days a week. The lessons are a little more involved and take a bit longer than the ones in Duolingo and so I feel that not doing it everyday will keep me from burning out and having it feel like a task that needs to get checked off a list instead of something I want to learn for my own enjoyment.

I have quite a few reasons. The deepest reason is that I need a new challenge. I’m not talented at learning languages so I am also motivated to overcome a limitation/weakness.
