Pretty sure the Black Volga legend has to do with secret police agents coming to kidnap you and take you into custody rather than a specific car and driver. Since people back in the Soviet Union barely had the funds to afford a Trabant, it's safe to say the Volga was mostly associated with people working for the government rather than civilians. Great rcr story as usual! ❤️🌟

Basically the same meaning as olive green Ford Falcons on Argentina. When the 1976-1983 dictatorship was on the power, Ford supplied the military with olive green falcons, which were used on the kidnappings, killings and disappearings.

Ironically enough I knew immediately what it was since I have had a pretty similar thing happen here. Some guy in my neighborhood had this awful old Beetle that he hacked so many lights and horns into, and put such bad wiring into it that when it rained the wires for the horns would short circuit and you'd have the the car beeping it's guts out randomly at 3 AM and watching this guy in his pajamas run outside in the rain to shut it off. Not far fetched that the same thing could happen to a starter cable.

the Black Volga is pretty much solved, it was the official car driven by KGB agents at the time, the supposed kidnapping is obviously people that have been targeted by the KGB for idk going against the government or something like that, the story of it being cursed/possessed is probably to keep kids/young adults from strolling outside in the night too much, atleast thats what i heard.

In a somewhat related note, there's this ghost story on the west side Cincinnati about a haunted road that is extremely hilly, like Rollercoaster hills, I forget it's name though. The story goes that when driving at night, one might find that they are being followed by a car from the 1950s. The ghost car will eventually start driving faster and faster and begin tailgating you, thus prompting most people to speed up so as not to be rear ended. But no matter how fast one drives, the ghost car will keep tailgating you. Eventually, one would get to one of the Rollercoaster hills and be going so fast that they jump it, when the car lands they either break their neck or they simply lose control and go off the road. I've personally been on the road at night and almost hill hoped my car even without any ghost cars involved; so it's probably another one of those stories that get their origin from someone who was too embarrassed to tell the police what really happened.

This seems like a good time to tell a story that I watched with my own eyes. Sometimes, my dad would want to borrow my mom's Camry. Mom did not like him driving her car. Using the same key she always used, he would not be able to start the car. I'd see him get out and check something and get back in, but still nothing would happen. He'd get out looking defeated and hang the keys. Whenever mom wanted to drive, it would start right up in typical Toyota fashion. It never left anyone stranded, but that Toyota would often times refuse to start for dad.

The Golden Eagle story is bunk. I know you mention that it may, but I dug deep and also couldn't find any contemporary sources for the claims. Everything only goes back to 2016 or 2017. The lady who owns it claims she has a fleet of hainted cars which she bedazzles. You should read hear writing. I'm not poking fun, but she seems like she needs help.

My first car was a 1959 Nash Metropolitan. A previous owner had removed the bench seat and replaced it with a couple of buckets (with gold metal flake upholstery!). Looked real sporty with the cheap red paint job that was peeling off in my places, but hey - when your budget for buying a car is less than $200, ya gotta make some compromises. On my first day driving it I got T-boned at an uncontrolled intersection. It was a low speed impact that left a nasty crease in the door, but the door still opened and closed and the window was okay so I never got around to fixing it. Did I mention that the previous owner, when installing the new seats, only used the existing seat mounting bolts - one on each side of the (bench) seat? So each bucket seat was held in by only one bolt on the outboard side. So anyway, a few days after the accident I had my best friend in the car with me and we were, um, testing the acceleration (0-60… eventually) and handling (surprisingly stodgy for such a small car, with body roll for days). I took a hard right turn. The damaged passenger door flew open and the passenger seat tilted outward, held in only by its single outboard bolt. Fortunately my friend was holding onto the “Jesus handle” on the dashboard or he would have had an unpleasant encounter with the Route 66 pavement. From that day forward, the passenger seat in that car was referred to as the ejector seat, though the very next day I added more mounting bolts to the bucket seats. While I was at it I also installed some bitchin gold shag carpet to go with the seats. Hey, it was the ‘70s; that’s what high school kids did back then. I also sent in an order for seat belts from the J. C. Whitney catalog. That passenger door would still fly open occasionally, though…

I heard that the Golden Eagle was the inspiration for Steven King’s Christine. Also the jumping Renault it could be explained by faulty electronics. It stands to reason that the the car was likely a manual and as anyone that drives one knows you leave it in a gear rotating the opposite way it’ll roll. Also the jumping would happen because the handbrake was applied. If a short caused the starter to engage while in gear it would make a lot of noise.

For the No 7 bus story. The area it is supposed to appear in (The intersection of Ladgroke Grove & Cambridge Gardens is on the route of the real 7 and N7 night bus. The N7 Bus commenced operation in 2003 and since Ladbroke Grove is one of the widest roads in the area and also mostly straight it might be that tired/drunk people where speeding there not expecting a massive bus at that hour (The real N7 is actually scheduled to stop at the nearby Ladbroke Grove Tube Station at 01:14). The Westway and/or Tube viaduct might also play a role in it.

i wonder if I used to own a spooky car… A blue Triumph Herald 13/60 with a sunroof (SGH865F, it is still around on the DVLA website). Why may you ask, well the doors used to fly open sometimes when I drove it. A family friend was so scared that she refused to be a passenger in any future car that I later owned. I managed to get rid of the demon by replacing the passenger door with another one and readjusting the driver's door. Damn, I had you going, not!

We had a car, not cursed but just bad luck. My father bought a slightly used 1972 Dodge Monaco. When 10 days old, my father went to lunch with a coworker, walked past the car to show it off and a moment later saw a car screaming down a hill, honking its horn, it turned onto the street and slammed into the rear of the Dodge. It was fixed for barely a month when my mom driving, approached a green light at a blind intersection. An ambulance ran the red light and T boned the front of the car spinning us around. A few months after that, my mother spun it on ice and crunched 3 fenders! 3 Accidents in 6 months. My parents were not in 3 other accidents the rest of their driving life!

My father in law belonged to an mc that buried a harley because everyone who rode it got hurt or killed .. even if you used parts off it. To this day, nobody knows its location, they all went to the grave with that secret. I personally had a 69 mustang i was slowly restoring over the years, and had different people do different jobs on it as it progressed. Every single one of those people who had that car in their yard had a family member die, or became ill. I lost it in a divorce, and good riddance to her and it. Weird thing is, that car never did a thing to me, almost like i was the only human it would tolerate as id restored it back to life .

I won't deny this sound a lot like the movie the gladiator with the black charger which was legit just a guy killing people with reckless driving and spikes on his rims except this story to took place in clinton road in New Jersey which many say is one of many haunted highways in America. I couldn't find anything else other than a Mr. Nightmare video. Whether or not it's a real story I don't know.

So the "black Volga" story. I never heard this version however the story that is most likely the truth is that black Volgas was driven by KGB or whatever was the secret police in each soviet country (it was UB in Poland where I'm from). This car (and not only this one) was used by the secret police to kidnap people for interrogation or to just "disappear" them. I hear this BS about aliens, the devil, and blood baths for the first time in my life. Volgas was also not that common, at least not in Poland. Here it was mostly Fiat 126 and 125, Syrena, Warszawa, and couple of other models, black Volga was something that people would notice.

The only cursed cars are cars that have the worst quality that never stop breaking down. Followed by being a hazard just by moving on the road at any speed. Followed by something random breaking. Followed by minor things going wrong consistently. Followed by never having anything going wrong. I am curious about where the Golden Eagle is. It would be the ideal vehicle for someone single with no family.

I had a car like that, a '67 Galaxie fastback. Sometimes at night the headlights would cut off and on. It always ran great, but despite that, sometimes it refused to start. The original 289 blew up, and the 302 I replaced it with wound up having a cracked piston. It even had yellow jackets inside until I fogged it---this despite being a daily driver, not a car that had been sitting. I liked that car a lot, but I wound up trading it for something else.....because it was cursed.

I agree a lot with the opening statement. At times it feels like the same type of person is attracted to a car. Or you need to be living a particular lifestyle in order for this car to present itself to you as an option. Great example are Nissan sentras , V6 Dodge Chargers. No matter where they come from across the country no matter what year they are. It's like only four types of people are allowed to drive that car and if you're not that type of person that God would never even be something you would remotely consider. Chrysler Sebring. Do you think that's a car anybody wants to be driving around right now? It's a car desperation something that you drive because the only thing you could really afford in your life reflects that perfectly.

A neighbor who was a devout born-again Christian told me how his Honda Prelude (he called it a Per-loody) knew what kind of music was being played on its stereo and acted accordingly. He told me that when his son drove the car and listened to Rock n' Roll the car would run badly. When he would drive the car and listen to Gospel music the car behaved as God intended and was cleansed of its bad spirits from the worldly music his son played on the radio. This man also believed in non-traditional medicine and died of a massive heart attack even though friends and family begged him to see a doctor not long before his death.

Well the reason for volga stories is clear. It was the standard KGB car. People getting disappeared by KGB was not rare. Voice you grievances of government or the communist party in wrong group? You disappear. etc. etc.

Yep exactly. In the Soviet Union if you were to be taken away by a government authority, chances are it was done with a black Volga.

My car does that with the air and windows. Ended up being the ignition is loose so a wiggle of the key will bring them back. I guess my dad was right when he said having too much on your keys will mess up the ignition.

There is one cursed car that inspired an important part of a manga/anime. In Japan there was a modified Pantera that was crashed and the driver died but the engine survived and was swapped into another Pantera that lived on. The concept would be popularized in the Devil Z car in Wangan Midnight.
@kyle8952
@kyle8952 Жыл бұрын
The story you just told of a pantera has no resemblance to devil z except someone died. Devil Z is spooky because the car was bought by a guy who had the same name as the dead previous one.
