Great build! Good ESC motor combo too. I've been running Hobbywing stuff on my cars for quite a long time. Only issues have been like 2 broken fans due to rocks/dust.

Another good thing about them is you get a spare fan in the box.

Yerrhh I put it in all my Tamiya. Performs well but isn't too much. Although the silver can purists wouldn't agree. 😄

@@johnsrcstuff7936 don't think the style motor I use will fit in The Avante cos of the shape of the motor not being small at the opposite end to motor shaft. Chassis top deck gets in the way.

I Have the same setup in my Sand viper. Yet to run it, but it seems to work well.

Yerhhh seems very suited to many Tamiya, although in a RWD Rc it spins out a lot.

My hobby store has this for $309 and I would be putting 5500 KV or more brushless system in it. I had this car when it was called the super shot back in the day. And it comes with full ball bearings.

The Big Wig is very simular to the shot and some how left out part B-7 it ran but not right, I discovered the problem and put the part in, boy did I regret that, the job took an hour at lest!

Yerhhh, broke it last run, but parts easy and cheap to find, Just put a 17tooth pinion in it too. Think stock is 15tooth. Thanks for tuning in. 😀

@@butchmeister80 bumper, lost the drive shaft, and front knnuckle. They are weak points, be in a upcoming video. Just cartwheeled and bust. Bumper is better with nut and bolt through the two front mounting point, and the knuckles are known to be weak, Plus is was pretty cold so plastic maybe brittle. £20 fix, not bad really.

@@butchmeister80 It landed right on the corner and rolled a couple of times. Spoiler fine. The Hub/Knuckled was'nt broke as such but the ball joint thread came out. It looked a lot worse than what it was really. It was full pelt jump and back end kicked up.

That's a very nice build. Hope that in the future will make a similar video, but then with the new hotshot 2 blockhead. Or can the same tuning parts be used?

ESC and Motor will fit in most Tamiya. Hope to get the BlockHead II at some point in the future. Cheers for tuning in my friend.

I would put their anti-wear grease in the diffs to get the limited-slip action.

Generally, yes. It gets better. I think they are known for it.

Which oil weight did you use for the dampers?

Hi. I used what comes in the box. The stock Tamiya oil. It is either soft or medium.

Most people go with Hornet first time for Tamiya, but I built and drove a Novafox the other day and it was a lot better than I rememeber my Hornet being. Put a 13'5 turn brushless motor in that with a good ESC, maybe a Combo and you will have great fun. hobbyking.com/en_us/trackstar-roar-approved-13-5t-1-10th-stock-class-brushless-esc-and-motor-combo.html I run that in mine. The super Hotshot is the better rc for sure. But if I had to pick one the super or the original I would go for the super.

@@FullOnRC awesome what connector do I need? I have the original kit my dad bought me when I was 14, I'm now 50 and my boy uses it! My boy wants it faster. Lol

@@clarkson427 That's some pretty old plastic. I'm not sure something that old could handle that setup. I would be careful. The connection you need depends of the plug you have on your lipo. Are you using lipo's or NIMH ?

@@FullOnRC yeah probably right. I use NIMH, I do need some new batterys. what are lipo batteries? Are they better? U can see how long I've been out of this circle. Lol

@@clarkson427 Yerhh Lipo's are better than NIMH. NIMH are 7.2 volts and 2s Lipo's are 7.4. Lipo's have cells, 2s 4s 6s, more cells is more volts. You just need 2s lipo. They have to be maintained and balance charged. www.amazon.co.uk/Zeee-4200mAh-Battery-Deans-Truggy/dp/B08GYG8PGG these are the ones I use, same shape as the NIMH and fit in the older kits.

Terra scorcher can take a 4000kv stock. I've seen one run on someone's video.
