When you say that you want speed but don't want to damage the car, I totally understand lol. I'm the same with my cars, not about that destruction life. I'd rather keep mine in a fairly good condition and still have fun with them. 👌👍

I’m glad Tamiya still offering these super stocks. Sagami micro motors in Japan manufactures these motors for Tamiya. Before the take over of brushless Sagami manufacturer almost all the high performance brushed motors for other brands (Orion, Yokomo, Kawada, Atlas, Etc). The other was Tokyo-Mech who made motors for Team Trinity (EPIC). Most new brush motors being made now (black can and copper end bell) are made in China and the build quality is no we’re near as good as the older Japanese built ones.

This sort of stuff is Gold Glenn, I'm a big fan of comparisons, and speed runs. I think it was a really good improvement over the Sports Tuned. Maybe the bigger difference on the 3s was just because it hit the sweet spot on that motor, and with the added bearings, it allowed it to run a little more efficient.Keep up the good work.

@@TAMIYALegends Well you are doing a good job of it. I've got a video coming up soon... ordered a suspect fake Sport Tuned from China, and ordered a real one from Japan. Hoping to get some proper tests to see the difference! And if it turns out the Chinese one is fake, it'll be getting destroyed in spectacular fashion! lol

I heard rz was for Road or Race, bz was for Buggy, and tz was Torque. The bz motor comes with 2 foam dirt filters that go over the can, but they hide the beautiful motor. I would rather just clean it regularly. P.s. I only run my bz on a small 3s and it is glorious!!!!!! And once again... thanks Glenn.

Excellent video, great to actually see the differences between these motors in real terms.I can say this... I have Super Stock RZ’s in both a Hornet & a Wild One. Both obviously 2wd.. and running a 2s Lipo, they wheely and wheelspin if you gun the throttle. I’ve looked at the figures for the differences in torque between the BZ & RZ they’re both the same! ... only difference on paper between the 2 is that the RZ has 1000 rpm more.

Great vid 👍. Really interesting to see these comparisons. I thought you might have done a BZ test in standard form to see the comparison against the sport tuned. Then fit the bearings in the BZ to compare it to the time you'll set with the modified RZ which would give you an idea of the time the RZ would have set in standard form. If you know what I mean 😄.

A high speed spur gear is also on it's way and a set of foam tires, maybe they will get better results? I'm not ready yet to switch to Lipo, stick to NiMh batteries for now. The method should be: warm the motor can (to make it expand) and freeze the bearings (to make it shrink) once they are fitted the temperature normalises the bearing will stay tight in place… personally wouldn’t warm the resin bell end should push in easily enough if aligned correctly..

TAMIYA Legends Ah batteries. Thanks for that. Watching your videos has got me up in the loft to dig out my Sand Scorcher that I was given by a friend of my dads back in 1986! All original, shell had a rough life and is in a state, so I’ve just finished a box art white / blue re re shell, a re re Rough Rider shell in box art orange and I’m waiting on some paint to finish the box art Ranger F-150 shell which I’ve converted from a new Blackfoot shell. All with new correct rims and tyres. You’ve cost me an absolute bloody fortune during this lockdown!! And......I’ve just started stripping the paint on my original TA-01 Escort Cosworth shell. 👍🏼😁

The difference wont remain the same in terms of a set mph..... It should however, have a similar difference in terms of percentage.....ie 20% quicker

That's fast in new Zealand. If it's right. We drive 50 kph at stranded road speed. And highway speeds are 100kph so that's almost as fast as that

Oh yeah if you watch the last video in this series it does 106kph 🤯

mathieu leborgne Lol this is a video series working up from a silver can 540 to a 5750kv 6.5t. I’m showing the difference in mph on each motor. No point going straight to the mad motor, where’s the fun in that 😂👊🏻

why not use a long wooden tooth pick or kebab stick (how you call it in English. In Dutch is saté stok) to put in the center of the bearing and then slide it into the motor housing. No metal (just the bearing) and then press it in with the backside of an Edding marker ?

Change out the tires to some off road style block tires and you won't spin out any more, They will give you tons of traction!!, I bought some generic ones off Ebay for about 10 dollars and it made my car handle like it was on velcro. Before that, I used slicks and spun out of control like your car did when you try to slow down and break. Then you won't be worried about breaking you car anymore because the new tires give you some much more control. You can stop on a dime! Beware that if you start drifting at high speed with the cheap generic block tires off Ebay, the wheels will break. Oh, and you may need to re-glue the tires when you get them., since the glue they use is a little weak., but other than that, they work great! Click the link below to see the tires I'm talking about. You will be shocked how well they work!!! www.ebay.com/itm/393299427134?_trkparms=aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20201210111314%26meid%3D39e5fda6209548b4afaae37756288f55%26pid%3D101195%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dpf%26sd%3D202654211242%26itm%3D393299427134%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DSimplAMLv9PairwiseUnbiasedWeb%26brand%3DHPI&_trksid=p2047675.c101195.m1851
