It happened with me and when I realised their mindset is very cheap I immediately started to part away from them. This is so much needed I have exams next month and I was forgetting that I deserve to get 90% or more I have worked so hard on studying past 5 months while working a job. And without college . I always felt like I can never get anything above average My whole life I always failed to get above average marks and forever I taught I deserve nothing. But this time I am putting so much work and going out of my comfort zone . I will come back and comment after next month on giving my exams to prove that i did it!! I feel like people misinterpret “arrogance” and “self-love”. “Humbleness” and “people-pleasing”. Because if we think about it, being humble, doesn’t have to mean to always put yourself down. It could mean that you shouldn’t show off in front of those who may have less than you and shame them for it. That’s where arrogance comes in. Some people truly DO think they are better than everyone and they fully act upon it. While someone who is in love with themselves, wouldn’t try to show off, but do something that will make THEM feel comfortable. They don’t talk shit about others or think they are better than anyone. Their mindset is basically- it’s me against me. Now with humbleness. It could be part of kindness. Sometimes, we need to remind ourselves where we are and who we are talking to about our accomplishments because, just like Tam mentioned, people are the ones assuming you’re bragging. So if you wanna rant about your accomplishments. Do it with people you know won’t get jealous and just try to not mention about your successes to many people who may just bad mouth you for no reason. Being humble, sometimes means to be respectful because we DO see some celebrities being bitches to their fans and etc. So it’s basically what YOU make the word mean like. Just like with the- “How to be a bitch” vid that Tam posted which may make someone think “Oh I don’t wanna be a bitch!” But actually, the word means a whole opposite of being an actual bitch. Number 3: 'Following your heart over your mind', I agree with what Tam says about this point when it comes to relationships. From my past experiences, I have broken up with my exes even though I was still very much in love with them. Because I kept getting this uncomfortable feeling in my gut that told me I deserved better than to be treated that way. But I would also like to to add that this advice might be useful when it comes to deciding what I want in life (my life path). I've been through a depressing period of my young adulthood where I generally thought logically e.g "this is good for my future career", "I'm doing this so I can make my parents proud", "This path will make me successful even though I don't enjoy it". And that fucked me up. I think those are the words from people who want to decide how I live my life. For me, that's not living. I wasn't being myself, and I was controlled. So, then at one point, I snapped. I asked myself, specifically, the ache in my heart, "Fuck what other people think. What is it that YOU want?" And then all these images of my desires pop up in my head, and the ache disappears, and I feel so much lighter and it made me genuinely smile for the first time in a long time. So, I decided to follow my heart. And now, I'm happy where I am, doing what I love and enjoy, away from people who tried to control my life

To add to #3, listen to your body's natural responses to people or things. In the past, when my now ex was pushing to be my boyfriend, my mind screamed no, my body felt all of the typical anxiety symptoms and was uncomfortable, and my heart said, "Give him a chance. Be kind. You might like being with him?" I followed my heart and was so insecure and didn't trust my mind and body, and he wound up being a narcassist who abused me and left me with years of trauma that luckily I have healed from now

Tam, you know what. Last year I went to a psychologist (due to my clinical depression) she asked me about my future plan. She even said if you don't have a Plan now you can't do anything in the future. I was so scared coz I'm just a 1st year uni student (in india.) I really don't have any future plan but i wanna be like you girl. You're such an inspiration, love you. And yes. I won't visit that psychologist again. ❤

Thanks for debunking these. I was following most of these and it failed so hard on me when I went through my breakup and it threw me off too. I try to avoid social media to do this on my own. love this, especially the one about the love languages 🥰 BUT, the way i saw it, one day really is about emma and dex growing into the people they needed to become (for themselves!!!) before they finally got together!! they KNEW they weren't right for each other in the beginning, so when they finally grew up and learnt how to show up as better versions of themselves, it makes their relationship all the more satisfying (if you just pretend the show ended a little earlier 🥴)

I see my idol self in you .. each and everyday I can relate to your struggles and I push myself to my fullest ... Rn I'm persuing engineering I got backlogs... my mom and her friend are constantly saying that i should be more humble. probably because i have my own opinion and i am not afraid of talking about it. i am seventeen and now i know that my mom is toxic af (i listened to your podcast about toxic family) and i dream of getting out of this house and living on my own. this year i started my journey to self-respect and your content is sooo helpful. my ex toxic friend showed me your channel (what a paradox). this is the best thing she could have done (except leaving my life obviously)

#12 really hit the nail on the head as to why my dad's way of showing love never resonated with me. He's a big provider and has given me so many things, even when (I'd argue, mostly when) I never asked for anything. I appreciate it, of course, but I always wished that he was supportive of my decisions and goals 🙂
