FUN FACT: having your phone off airplane mode does not effect the plane itself. It actually just makes the pilots have a earache because the headsets pick up on the waves coming off your phone. So basically airplane mode just is recommended so that the pilots aren’t distracted

Thank you for mentioning this! I was thinking the samething! She's such a phony, or doesn't pay attention to her surroundings very much, (or both). She even mentioned in the video that she flew from LA to Las Vegas numerous times! Lol! Anyways, a major reason why airplanes at LAX take off from east to west is because jet engines are so freaking loud during take off! The residents near the airport, in the City of Inglewood, despise LAX because of the loudness. Also, a Delta Airlines flight earlier this year in February "had" to perform a fuel dump because of an emergency. (Jet Fuel even dropped on kids at a nearby grade school)!

Christopher Gallo yeah you literally have to take off into the wind in order to create enough lift over the wings to lift the airplane off the ground...same way you land into the wind in order to cause enough headwind to slow the plane down....

Most people don't realize it, but using your phone on planes actually *does* interfere with the planes signals and instruments especially flying on non international airlines like spirit. Also it's a very selfish mindset to have saying that your going to die anyway so why not because your also putting the 200 something other people on that flight in danger as well. Just a PSA😊 now that I think about it more flight attendants should be like her. Also it's ironic that I hate Southwest because the pilots are so inexperienced😬

kristn_T well then they should have actually told her to have her phone on airplane mode instead of just taking it away. You can't just take somebody's property away from them, and if it was really necessary, she should have warned Tana or something.

my dad is a pilot and they often have to take off in a different direction than where they're going because of the wind and weather conditions, and the other air traffic at the time. honestly the pilot could have just been joking when he said he went the wrong way, but it really is pretty common to turn around after you have cleared the other air traffic. funny story tho, lol

My dad is an air traffic controller and he said that planes go the direction the wind is going then turn, so sometimes you have to fly towards the ocean then turn. He also said Southwest pilots joke around to scare people.
