I've got 2 super heavies, 17 leman russ, 6 chimeras, 2 hellhounds, 4 basilisks and a death strike I need to bang through. I better hope B&M still stock this butter slime.

Haha, oh my !!! Good luck though and you can reuse the slime if you massage it through properly lol

Haha it was what I had at home, that or plasticeen and that's not as good actually 😄

loved the idea, if you can do something similar without airbrush will be ideal great work

you can paint with a brush round the slime areas anyway, the best and quickest way is a spray can (or air brush), you can find lots of colour variations in spray cans and they work well Its more about the speed of covering large areas than the smoothness of the finish the little white highlights could be targeted dry brushing on a spot, or maybe a stencil and white spray can 😁

what airbrush do u use and what is the best compressor to get which is cheap start kit ? in uk
@SimplyWarhammer Жыл бұрын
I use the Sparmax MAX-4 Airbrush from Graphic Air, not entry level but not too expensive

The slime idea is great is it worth buying a airbrush?? heard mixed things about them
@psjesse1172 жыл бұрын
Definitely worth, absolutely better for getting a smooth coat, quicker than a brush too

I'm probably not the best judge as I'm sure I don't get the most from it. I've used it loads but haven't needed it as such. While it is good for basing and I've got through a lot fast the cleaning you need to do is a faff. The jury is out with me about 'worth it' but it's fun and I don't regret it lol

The constant cleaning isn't fun but I've smashed through basing with it 😁

Definitely worth it, but get a good mid point one. Cheap airbrushes will fail quickly

I have a question: is that plydoh a little bit greasy? Thanks!!
@SimplyWarhammer Жыл бұрын
It depends on the type of 'slime' and how new it is, this one has been played with lots for the air has dried it out a bit, but it great and not greasy 😊

@@SimplyWarhammer thank you!!!!

I also think after applying all the paint you want take the 'slime' off quickly and any grease is unlikely to transfer 😁

I tried painting my doomscythe using only a basing brush and speedpaints (no airbrush for me...). Let's just say it didn't go to well
@SimplyWarhammer Жыл бұрын
Thats a shame, what particularly went wrong for you ? I remember my doomscythe and it took forever as I did green edge highlighting everywhere lol 😅

@@SimplyWarhammer I can't really paint large areas without getting some nasty streaks because Speedpaints. It's supposed to be a one-coat solution and trying to fix uneven spots with another coat just made it worse. Maybe that's just my inexperience tho, I've been painting for about two months now and everything else was regular sized minis. I was thinking about masking the cockpit and doing everything else from scratch but that also kinda feels like a waste.

Basing with a primer colour that matches what you want is an idea, there's loads of options available when you go none Citadel. The biggest panels I've done with just a brush was on a Knight, and was many thin coats with real focus on brush strokes in the same direction. Also you can ignore brush problems with weathering 😁

@@SimplyWarhammer I'll definitely give that a try when the next big model comes around👍
