I can't believe they shut that other channel down. Thanks for putting this up!

That's the second time Irish History Documentaries has been shut down. These channels would not have to exist if these documentaries were made more easily available

I love that indignant reference Mr Costello made to Mr De Valero ( as so many British officials & commentators used to refer to him as, fumbling over his surname ) referring to the Cabinet members scrambling & racing for posts ! What a marvelous cartoon scene ! A Cabinet ‘ battle royal ‘ !

The two best ones were W.T. Cosgrave and Seán Lemass, without a doubt.

Why is John Gerard Bruton shafted constantly?

Garret FitzGerald reminds me a lot of Jimmy Carter In the way both men never ever really got the respect that they deserve until many years later when they both left office

They were just really obtuse.

One minute in, and I'm lost. No set up or year or background. It could start earlier.

These irish pundits complaining about their politicians participating in machine politics might be one of the ultimate examples of irony I've ever seen in my life. Do they have any idea what their ancestors created over here in the mid to late 19th century through the mid 20th century? They invented machine politics, kickback system and a clever assortment of other " electoral aids". Other ethnicities didnt bother voting in local elections because the Irish so completely dominated process. I could go on but I won't. The irony can't be amusing to just me. And I'm half Irish

While Reynolds worked hard at what has come to be known as " the peace process " but his utterly MENDACIOUS exaggeration of his role in the process is bloody nauseating...an applepolisher to his bootstraps ...a typically narcissistic Reynolds...he is close to tears when speaking of himself and has no tears for the victims of clerical child abuse which he had been party to attempting to sweep under the carpet... he was a gombin egotist who does not even REFER to the work of his civil service and of Tom Savage during his incumbency..the evidence of this exists but no-one ( I'll wager ) will publish it...more of this ' de mortuis nil nisi bonum ' shite....,

I agree whoelfully he turned out to be probably the worst and dishonest of them all bar Charlie . If he dint get to be taoiseach we would label him as the best taoiseach that never was. But we found out differently..very disappointed on his failures of past corruption duties

@@seancampbell9740 So, generally speaking, whose supposed to be the best Taoiseach--regardless of party etc.? Pretty easy to figure out the “Washington”, but not the rest. Regardless, as an American, it’s an excellent documentary.

@@Cullark best Taoiseach is generally regarded to be Seán Lemass.
