I head up to an area near the English Scottish Border Wall, I take a new route up, enjoyable but challenging at times, as was the different route down.
Glorious weather but oh so windy again !
Handy test of a FireMaple pot included

Another great adventure. So much nicer having a view and no condensation. A lovely unspoilt area to explore if a little hard going due to lack of foot traffic but there’s always a way. Very relaxing thanks for taking the time to film. All the best Pete 👍

I know it would be a pain but it would be great to see which order you do things in too. Lay out tarp? Stake out poles/tarp corners etc? Regardless, I enjoy watching your adventures. I get out when I can but it’s but it’s not often enough - life gets in the way!

typically I watch your vids all the way through. I find your chats relaxing and you use the tarp bivi combo which is my fav. I'd love one of those hooped carinithia bivi's but cost to much for my liking. one day I might get a good second hand one. add to my collection of bivi's. mostly mid range price wise. a bunch of different tarps as well.

Hi and thanks for watching, as you know you can’t beat a tarp and bivy, I feel the carinthia ones are a touch expensive and too heavy, I may even get the Alpkit Hunka out not so good but lighter as I will need for the ridge walk I plan Cheers Adrian

As for the camp chair I'm all for it. I don't walk as much as you anymore what with my bad knees, back, and I'm 76. But I have an inexpensive Trekology chair which is pretty light. Easy to carry, and relatively stable. Makes life out there sooooo much easier. St Louis, MO. U. S. A.

Hi and thanks for watching from over the US I do fancy a chair but the light ones around 500 grams are a bit expensive I will have to see,there are plenty of reasonable ones around the kilo mark but it’s still a kilo, I am feeling the weight, Cheers Adrian

Great video. I dig your enthusiasm to hike up to those views. Thanks for taking us along. Feels like we're there with you. The heat exhanger pots boil water very fast. I have a 1L Olicamp XTS that pairs well with the Windmaster too. I like the size of the Fire Maple. I wonder if the Triflex 3 prong pot support can fit in the inserts. Fantastic pitch and views.

Hi Adrian, I mentioned yesterday that I was over on Hare law and the tors while you were across the valley, got back to Hethpool at 8. I've done a lot of walking up there this week and have struggled in many places trying to find my way through bracken. I'm 5'2" so its a nightmare and you cant see where you're stepping so its risky for the ankles. Also lots of beautiful long meadow grass which makes the legs work hard. That was all on footpaths according to the map. However, the Cheviot hills are very special. Regards Dawn.

Hi and thanks for watching I think a lot of the under used paths get overgrown quickly and you have to find the farmers quad tracks which can help, but I suppose the bracken will always be on the routes where quads can’t go Enjoy your holiday you obviously love the tranquil Cheviots Cheers Adrian

I bought a helinox chair 1. It's twice the price, but half the weight of cheaper versions. & believe it or not, I have actually fallen asleep in a few times, it's very good. The smaller ones such as chair zero, or ground chair, are lower & will probably fit under a tarp
@northumberlandmountainhopper
@northumberlandmountainhopper Ай бұрын

Cracking camp as always Adrian, at one time, I could have got to the places you do, but thanks to illness, that buggered things, but I'll definitely be back up there, just lower down than you lol, the views take the breath away for sure, you need a golok for that undergrowth lol, bloody hell 😀, least with the hooped bivvy, even if it's light out, I just turn over and sleep, inside the hooped bit etc, it's still relatively dark ,thanks to the material, not sure if you find that or not, need to setup a appreciation group up for dutch hooped bivvy lol, good health and safe travels my friend, cheers craig
