After last weeks wet camp, I returned to the forest armed with my gortex army bivy bag,
I found a pitch overlooking the forest, and enjoyed a great chilled out Bivy camp, with no leaks so lovely and dry.

Hi Gez, yes it was a good one ! Nice walk in and nice weather, and best of all, even in the proper damp in the morning only a touch of damp on the foot box, the army bivy does it right again, Cheers Adrian

Great video Adrian, thoroughly enjoyed watching, it’s clear you’re a master of the tarp and bivvy combo. Interesting that condensation still forms under a tarp with presumably fantastic ventilation, just shows it’s no wonder when 4 season tents this problem. Looking forward to next one 👍👍

Loved the set up and stunning views! Your right the price of camping meals now is daft at times. Tend to only take them now if I need to keep pack weight down

Hi and thanks for watching, it was a great pitch, only accessible with a tarp and bivy I like some of the camping meals but will save them for the longer walks/camps and will investigate other options Cheers

Great set up and cracking video Adrian, deffo a good choice with the goretex bivvy 👍. Lovely view that, total solitude, can’t beat it, I can see how much you enjoy these camps, great to see. Nice words re Sycamore, I’m absolutely devastated if I’m honest, that section of Hadrians Wall will never be the same. Thanks for sharing, lovely vid. Dave

Tbh Adrian I gave my army goretex bivvy away which I regret. I’ll probably go down that route again as I don’t want condensation inside. It opens up so many options, especially in Northumberland 👍

@@milesfromanywhere. yes the other bivies all have their pros but if it’s damp there is only one option, and the opening is big enough so you don’t need a zip Cheers

I have watch a few of your video's before, subscribing this morning because I miss camping, work is a bit busy just now. You may have gotten a bit better set-up for the wind by collapsing your trekking poles a bit. Keep it up, greetings from Canada.

That’s the beauty of a bivi and tarp setup , means you can pitch up where no tent can . Glad the BA Bivi proved its worth , I also own that one and it’s massive and great piece of kit. Great location , but I did wonder if you got the deluge we got around 6pm which was heading east 😂 . At least now you can rotate mats between getting repaired lol

Hi Dave, the army bivy bag is superb, so breathable just twice the weight but what price is comfort, soon be big sleeping bags as well, I got a good rain shower at 10 pm other than that it was a clear full moon then clouded over, we get more wind in the east where you get more rain in the west !! Cheers Adrian
