In 2015, after Total War: Warhammer was announced but before it released, Creative Assembly announced that they planned to create a trilogy of Total War: Warhammer games.[1]
In 2016, Russian data-miners discovered plans in the Total War: Warhammer game files for a third game featuring Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeentch and Slaanesh as factions.

Total War: Warhammer is part of Creative Assembly's grand strategy Total War series. And also in Belegar's defense, anything that's part of a Gotrek & Felix adventure is bound to bite the low end of the stick, at least he should be glad knowing its genuinely possible to reclaim Karak Eight Peaks after "the worlds Best, but also the Worst Slayer" decided to explore it for the thrill of potentially finding his doom there, such is the way of the slayers after all.

For people who don't know, the novel Skarsnik is Skarsnik telling his life story to a playwright he kidnapped because he wants the people of the Empire to hear about him. So it would be totally in-character for him to sell the Skarsnik book to Empire citizens.

The best part of that is that he never really meant to sell his notes. His brother did that on his own initiative. All the Gotrek and Felix books are essentially the unedited research material for an epic poem to be created upon Gotrek's death. Something which was not particularly forthcoming.

Became a Stormcast eternal n he aghast, becoz now he realised even if Felix was saved to be Eternal, hes lost. Then necromancer tease him about Felix being alive. He made friends with a Witch Aelf.... Who got kidnapped by the Deepkin who was targeting him. Oh. And he's on a quest to find his axe, since that's probably the ONLY last remnant of his old life.

Yeah you could tell it was an early Warhammer story due to how weirdly Belegar was portrayed. Any Dwarf that refused to aid his ancestors would have been forced to take the slayer oath.

In fairness, the troll was an artificially created chaos mutant several times larger than normal with greater healing ability with a massive piece of warpstone stuck in it, that even the vast hordes of greenskins outside its lair that could have overwhelmed it were terrified of and Belegar was at a low point given he had a lot less troops on hand than normally.

1:18 What's funny is that Gotrek and Felix weren't there to hunt the troll, *they were there to loot the place*. They joined a contingent of knights from the Order of the Fiery Heart who were on a quest to recover the sword Karagul as it had been lost there centuries before, while Gotrek just wanted to make off with as much gold as the two could carry. They only became aware of the Chaos Troll until AFTER it had it appeared out of nowhere and pulped the knights' leader when they found the blade.

That time in the 2nd book when the Clan Skryre subordinate broke into where they held the Steam Tanks in Nuln and proceeded to wreck like three of them was the funniest event Ive ever read in any book. That was so peak Skaven and it will stand out to me even from a book which is filled with hilarious Skaven sheningans. Id love a Tarriff version of that honestly. We have every model in game we need to make it happen.

Or the first time they fight Thanquol's gutter runners (literally belly laughed when I read it) If you ever need another series, the Vampire Genevieve series is some of the best literature I've ever read

Fun fact: the troll was actually so horribly mutated by skaven putting warpstone necklace on it that it had a baby head and healed so fast that only after Felix gave it a napalm bath it was vulnerable. Also it was a tough opponent, the easier enemy was, for example, could be the wizard and Felix's old classmate Kruger, he was pwned by Felix no problem after Gotrek blocked his spell (though tbf the mutant troll was probably THE focus of the Trollslayer novel despite it being collection of stories with the Gehemistnacht cult, the mutant troll, Wolfgang's mutants, Kruger and Justine the khornate being final bosses of their stories). The beastlord in Shamanslayer gets killed by Gotrek while having bodyguards near and Krell gets schooled multiple times by Gotrek while the slayer is slowly dying (cuz Krell is a wuss and used cheat splinters to poison and kill him and still gets his ass kicked every time and runs away) Edit: also using "dwarfs mining" ost from BFME 2 is always a win

Roughly speaking? Yea. Belegar was trying and failing to take 8 Peaks due to a lack of adequate manpower and a bunch of spooky Dwarf ghosts harassing the expeditions. Gotrek and Felix (plus some random Britonian dude) come to 8-Peaks seeking stories of gold (and an heirloom sword in the Britonian’s case). The spooky Dwarf ghosts eventually manage to convey that they just want Gotrek to kill a warp-rained troll living out of their tombs to put their souls to rest. Which he does. Also the Britonian guy is killed and Felix inherits the heirloom sword. Turns out gold belongs to the ghosts so they leave it behind.

@@barleysixseventwo6665 If I remember correctly it was actually an Empire Knight and not a Bretonnian one, way later in the series Gotrek and Felix run into that dude's Knightly Order because they want that sword (which Felix had been using for years at this point since the original Knight died). Just looked it up he was a member of the Order of the Fiery Heart, a Knightly Order in service to the Cult of Sigmar and whom act as bodyguards to the Grand Theogonist.

Am i the only one that thinks that belegar army specs in his skills are not fitting him well? I mean, he should be something like specialist in siege and artillery, maybe some air force.

Maybe, but the ranger focus is quite lore friendly as after the main throng took the surface of Karak 8 peaks he was left with mostly just rangers to hold on and scout

@@mp5284 i quite remember that too. maybe they should put focus on longbeards or do something like giving explosive units more range or something like that.

Singe Bugmans not in the game yet we need someone for the ranger units since they were Belegars dlcs main thing. So when BM is finally added i think they'll change Belegar into a siegemaster type character. The problem is that this should be FLC, since theres very few missing units for dwarfs now, baring the rune golems and shard dragons (what i hoped for in TOD, but what we got was still great), and finding a thematic spot for 🐛🧔‍♀ to be added will either be hard or hell just be thrown in as a sidenote haphazzardly. Maybe the Vampire related DLC, but honestly IDk.

I just realized why Finabar the Phoenix King, the Dragon Emperor, and Ghorth the Chaos Dwarf king aren’t in the game, they’re too busy laughing at Belegars expense from reading Felix’s book. Also *this* is Why Khalida when roped Gotrek and Felix into helping her, they weren’t killed on sight… she read the book and realized they’re were more useful to let pass through. Imrik: “Miao, You gotta read this!” Miao: “Not him again.” Imrik: *tosses book* “Just read it.” Later Miao: “One: You still can’t ride me, Two that’s the funniest thing I ever read where can I get more.”
