It depends on the person. Like most of the people on Food Network just blather endlessly about nothing. But someone like Jacques Pepin or Raymond Blanc? Almost everything they say conveys interesting and/or necessary information or just contributes to the joy they obviously feel while cooking. Honestly if one has never worked a wok in an Asian restaurant before I don’t understand why they would watch these videos. Simply because he doesn’t tell you how or why certain things are done a certain way, you have to already know.

But vocalising the steps matters too. For eg, in this video you might not have noticed that the cook cut the chicken at 45% angles to increase the surface area. Well, i did watch a longer similar video and got to know this. So the taste basically lies in the details of the steps followed.

All of his cooking videos are kind of art. From cutting, mixing, seasoning, frying to the final product. It's so amazing, he never talks and most importantly the calmness he carries throught the process easily tells us how confident he is. He knows exactly what he is doing. Highly composed. Watching him cooking is divine. The music plays an important role too.

Hi there, If you do not mind me sharing; a well-planned, organic, unrefined and untempered with vegan diet (consuming raw plant foods where possible so as not to denature or destroy the life-forces and enzymatic activities beneficial to the human system. If disagreeing on this matter, please take some steamed carrots, plant them and see if they will grow; if not, it is because they are 'dead' plant food that cannot benefit one's 'living' cells) consisting of organic fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, seeds and whole grains is the best diet to provide mankind with ultimate health and longevity. Regarding the whole protein concern for vegans is exaggerated from gathered information especially that there are 'high protein' plant food sources e.g nuts and legumes; People showing signs of deficiencies e.g those showing signs of anorexia, actually need plant food sources such as starchy carbohydrates that help with weight gain than protein. I highly encourage being a sceptic, research things for yourself, and you will find out that the diet shared with you is actually for your own good (even if it means making small changes here and there, i would encourage) e.g processed meats are classified as carcinogenic to humans in Group 1, which is as bad as it can get, where as plant foods are classified as anti-cancer foods. Please avoid factory produced meat alternatives whose chief ingredient can be 'soy' and may contain preservatives as well as additives (e.g vinegar, a corrosive agent). Food toxicity and nutrient deficiency (e.g white bread, white rice and white sugar) are a deadly combination as one is hindering the body's building materials needed to action healing whilst at the same time taxing the system with more toxic stuff, thus bringing about disease and possibly even an early death. GOD Bless 💙💙💙

I have been to many Chinese Restaurants that are a disgrace to Authentic Chinese cooking, they can learn plenty from your channel. These modern-day restaurants bury the love for food and water the commercial side.. they eventually lose the vision of certain practices that have benefits hidden in plain sight. You have a rare quality of sharing Quality Content.

I had to substitute the chicken for pork because i had prepped the veggies and everything only to open the chicken i had defrosted and smell its rottenness. So i quickly defrosted the pork and used that instead. I also added honey to the final portion in my bowl with rice. Soooooo delicious. And so light in flavors. Thank you for this wonderful recipe. It's my 1st time hearing about chicken manchurian. I usually cook sweet and sour chicken (my brother's favorite) and i think i'll try to make this one since it's similar (the cooking process) to sweet and sour chicken. PS: sorry for my broken english
