Most performers wear wigs. This isn’t meant in a bad light since wearing a wig isn’t but from what I heard when performers are on tour they usually wear wigs to prevent their real hair from damaging from heat, curling it, straightening it, styling it, etc.

Lmao no. That’s definitely not a wig. She’s just posing and still in that photo and likely just had someone carefully touch up her hair and makeup. Watch her hair in concert, it starts out like this and as she sweats and moves around it starts to go wavy and frizzy. I personally have very thick hair at the crown of my head and when I had bangs people often asked if they were clips-ins for the same reason. Look at posed pictures when her hair is up but with these bangs; you would be able to see if it was even just extensions. That’s her hair.

She didn’t always have short hair- debut, fearless, speak now was long with her natural curls then she began straitening it into waves rather than tight curls. For the red era she had a fringe and a more middle part rather than the side part but it was still long. For the 1989 era (2014, toured in 2015) she went with a long bob and the side parting was back, briefly dyed it platinum in may 2016 and had it at chin length compared to the previous shoulder length (the platinum only lasted a month),by july 2016 in was shoulder length again and back to a natural colour. She then had a middle parting again with the long fringe and bob for a while. By the reputation era (2018), it was below her shoulders but she wore it curly again so it was still at shoulder length, she sticks with her fringe. For Lover (2019) it was at about armpit length and the ends were pink for a while too. Folklore had the same length as lover era hair, minus the pink ends, since it came very soon after lover in 2020 and evermore came out months later, she usually wore buns or plats for these eras. For the taylor’s versions (2021 and 2023) and midnights (2022) her hair was slightly longer, the same as it is now. She hasn’t had a bob since 2016, 8 years ago.

I noticed the wig in th video, I think she just wanted to look extra polished cause bearing in mind her natural hair is curly and still recovering from years of heat styling and dye, it's probably hard to get it perfectly straight without frying it so when she wants it pin straight these days I'd say she wears a wig. I love that we're a seeing a bit more curl these days, reminds me of our yeehaw country Barbie from debut days. I reckon by the debut re-release she'll be ready to unleash the curls again in their full glory.
