Another reason for the bare midriff: Color contrasts with the gun. The gun’s outline is more visible when the part of her body next to the gun is a contrasting color. Not sure it would still apply to an overhead view, but it’s very obvious in a front-on view.

I assume the male/female yordle difference thing is a result of the old megling race existing. We only had the two female meglings that were turned into yordles (with no other yordle females existing at the time), so it made sense to explain it as it being sexual dimorphism. This was then carried over to the visual update/lore rework because it was already established.

Seeing Lulu's character model up close... is disturbing since she's so cute in her splash arts.... most of it. I wonder if they'll ever give her a visual update/new model to fit.

For the part with yordles being able to hide the appearance the "Paint the town" comic implies that its glamour magic that does it

I've fallen in love with Yordles as a concept. The way that they shape to the peoples and places they live is really fun, and kinda what I wish dnd Gnomes were more like. It gives them both a fun, Faean theme, while allowing them to fit into whatever area of the setting they are placed. Don't @ me, but Yodles>Gnomes 👀

Just thought it interesting that you compared Tristana to Lulu several times (to demonstrate the differences between new and old Yordles) but never to Poppy (to look for consistencies in the designs of new Yordles), particularly to compare how they handled the weight of Boomer against the weight of the Hammer of Orlon.

I haven't played league in almost 2 years, but I just love to listen to you rambling about character design and stories.

She always reminded me more of a Goblin from WoW than a Gnome, but in a way Yordles are kind of a mix of both but also their own thing, as you said more 'feral/furry' overall. Also I see Yoda in there is well hahahaha

I really liked this video, probably one of my favourites of yours so far! Really digging what you're doing with showing the character animations on screen too, it's helping me to notice a lot of little details the devs put in that really help flesh out her character I just never paid enough attention to to actually notice in game. The whole Megling thing is very much so an early thing that didn't last much past beta, honestly it's so insignificant that's not worth the time discussing it, Poppy was never categorized as a Megling, nor was Corki or Heimer, Tristana was the only one who was ever mentioned as one and the correction was that the megling was a yordle military commando, people refused to let that die for some reason even though it made no sense for Meglings to exist since they (her and only her) were exactly the same as yordles

I like to think the sexual dimorphism relates to human facial hair. Guys yordles have faces covered in fur, girls have much shorter hair on their face. The colours seem to be more like birds: the men have vibrant browns and whites, while the girls have duller purple and blue colours. Just a thought anyway.

But those grenades are used in an ability in game so it makes sense that its there.

She is adorable, though for the asymmetry I kinda wish the ear ring was on the side opposite to her canon like I'm sure it wouldn't make s huge difference but just to have something small counter balancing the visual weight of the cannon if that makes sense on a side note, anyone else love to do her dance animation after respawn just to have her do the military march tune while running back to lane? seems so fitting

If i'm not wrong yordle don't control the way they appear to human so i gess Ziggs and Heimer use technology to more or less control it.

Those things on her belt is ammo actualy, if you look closely you can see the patern. Its the same patern as the one on the 'bulets' she shoots.

In all due fairness I think the reason female yordles are more human-like is that when the yordle-megling separation existed. Most yordles (Teemo, Heimerdinger, etc.) were male while the meglings (Tristana, Lulu and Poppy) were female. And when they combined the races it left them in that awkward spot. So when the reworks came around they probably thought that if they changed the designs of the now-yordles Tristana and Poppy people would get upset, so the sexual dimorphism compromise was reached.

There is "art" of Rek sai . I am prety sure nothing can stop whoever wants to draw a character in S tier quality. The artists are inevitable.

I think they just have not gotten around to changing Lulu to make her more animalistic, because Poppy also looks kind of furry as well and she is also female. Just one question, if Tristana is suppose to be the strait man, why dose she act like a bit of a dare devil? Other then that, I agree, she is wonderful character over all.
