Please, please make more and more videos using the Butler system. I am new to this and need help. There are no good videos on this system from the manufacture. I also didn't receive a booklet of instruction, nor did a tech come to my home for set up. I had to download the instruction booklet and print it off. However, your video was better than the instruction booklet. I appreciated this video very much, Thank you. Tina

Thank you for making this video. I have the Butler system and am SLOWLY learning it! You are very thorough. I just took a quilt off today and alternately wanted to drop kick the system or start a new quilt! I've got the nesting sort of down and did a crop on the last pass, which was quite painful! Live and learn...

Thank you so much for this wonderful and informative video.I am just in the process of deciding which long arm machine to buy (Janome Quilt Pro 18 from a wonderfully supportive dealer 5 min. away) and this video helped me to decide that I will also get this system to add to it. I know that by subscribing to your channel, and watching your videos I will be able to be successful in learning to use this system.

Thank you, Thank you, thank you!!!!! Your video is by far the clearest and most detailed. I plan to watch and absorb your videos! Question though, can you do a sample area on a small mock up area without putting the whole quilt on to check the stitch? Thanks!!!!
@teaquilts
@teaquilts 3 жыл бұрын
Glad it was helpful Lou Ann! In regards to your question, I'm assuming your asking about the actual stitching designes, and NOT checking your stitch tension on a scrap, correct? If so, I don't usually have enough room with a bed size quilt to to an actual stitch out with the quilt on the frame. However, you can make a stitch sampler, say the width of fabric by 2 yards and use that to test your panto stitch outs. For me, I made a sampler quilt so I'd know my favorite stitches. Wow, that's amazing. You are a very thorough teacher. The people at Gammill and Butler should hire you to do teaching vids for their products! I have always worried thst I couldn't adapt to thst much technology, but now I'm thinking maybe I could. Thanks for a great vid!

Wow, thank you! My videos are usually longer than needed, but that's because I try to think of every scenario. I want to tell you not only the name of the icon, but how many down from top or up from bottom. Because someone tells you the name once, on a new system, doesn't mean you'll remember it. I don't like to make anyone feel awkward for asking a question I've already answered.

Thank you so much for making this video! I just purchased my butler and I was so nervous about how I was going to learn to use it...I’m a very visual learner. I have one question, after you finish the nesting do you put the needle (in the up position) back near where the starting position is (the green dot on the screen) and then hit the start button so you can pull up the bobbin thread...or do you start the stitching at the nesting point as your new starting point? I’m sure you probably went over this step and I am just missing it...lol thanks again!
@teaquilts
@teaquilts 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching my Butler tutorial and commenting Adrean. After I finish nesting, I just move my machine to approximate position of where I want to start. When I tell it to start stitching (press the green button), the robotics know where to start. I move to the approximate position because it will take less movement of the head to get to that position. No need to be accurate in placement. However, you don't want to have it FAR away from the start position; then, you'd have to wait for it to move a long distance before instructing you to pull up the bobbin thread.

Could you please do an updated version of the Butler Robotics System; since you have more experience now with it. Maybe an update one on Nesting and an Advanced one on the different features you have experienced with the Butler. It would be appreciated by us newbies. Thank you

Could you please do an update version of the nesting and using a pattern repeated for the next row video; since you have more experience with the Butler Robotics System now. Also, an Advanced video of the different features on the Butler you have experienced. It would be greatly appreciated by us Newbies to the Butler System. Also, maybe get someone else to film you, so you don't have to keep stopping to full with the camera you can just teach. Thank you

I noticed the sound of the machine changes as it stitches closer to the bar at the top. It makes me think it's more taut at the top area.
@teaquilts
@teaquilts 4 жыл бұрын
That was because when I first start stitching, my leader grips are right under the take up bar. The take up bar has the quilt backing attached and rolls the quilt as I go along.

I loved seeing Mickey Mouse peeking out, that was so cute. Thanked for the interesting demo. How long does it take in real time to do a quilt?
@teaquilts
@teaquilts 4 жыл бұрын
That's hard to say as too many factors, even if not computerize stitching. The size of the quilt, the density of the quilting design, the back tacking of some designs, and stitch length. Another factor is the speed of the stitching. It will stitch to whatever speed you set it at. However, I started with 50% and am now using 30%. I find my lines are straighter is I slow it down a bit. Hey, it's stitching so who am I to complain? I'd say 4 hours for average bed size - stitching only. You can easily add another hour for rolling and basting sides (as I float my quilt tops).

On average how many rows can you quilt before having to load another bobbin?

So what does the mechanism look like as roll the quilt up to another point to quilt?
@teaquilts

I showed that in the video. On the screen it just states to "Roll the quilt." You do exactly as told. When done, you hit the check mark.

@@teaquilts in the video a close up of rolling the quilt. Is there a handle on the side that rolls the whole quilt? You were over on the right side of the quilt and the entire quilt rolled.
