Chris, you kill me!! That first window you picked up... so gentle and dainty... you didn't so much as scratch the paint on the frame. Then you came to the next window... DROVE THE BUCKET straight through it! Demo has to be good therapy... what could be better than destroying something?!

The previous owner threw some money down a rat hole. That building was old and tired and lacking the bones to be worth a rehab attempt. The 220 is a powerful machine but the building didn’t put up much resistance. It was fun to watch. I’m not a machine operator and will never have the chance to wreck a building but the small boy in my head was imagining doing the ripping and tearing and loving it! Nice video and a great demo job. 🥸👍👀✅❗️

Something sad about seeing an old building torn down. Not that I want to keep decrepit old places around. I don't. It's more the long lost dreams of those who were so proud to build it decades ago. And, at least for the homes, the memories of people who have lived and grown up there.

Before i retired from Komatsu in Peoria Illinois, the old buildings along Adams street, were called Avery buildings. The crew from a demolition company came in to take them old buildings down but they did manage to remove and salvage the big timbers and they sold them to whomever. The guy who ran the excavator had a long I beam grabbed with the bucket to be able to reach the sidewalls. There we quite a few buildings hooked together and on the roadside since the buildings were just inside the sidewalk had to be fenced off for the traffic. They salvaged most of the bricks from them. It sure looks better now they are gone. It's all grass now.

@@davidglaum2538- might have gone up too fast!! Been like a fuel fired explosion!!! 😂😂😂. Where we live in Alberta, Canada every home has a basement. We were a small rural group of volunteers so by the time we would get to a farm house fire, about all we could do was save the basement!! Sometime just looked like a debris filled pool!! 😂😂 Buuutttt, we saved the basement!! I would often go back with a metal detector to help the homeowners find things like their coin collection, or jewellery even. It was always fun opening the gun safe!! Those guns were perfectly fine!! All the documents burned in the tiny lil $50 safe they had, but the $2,000 gun safe and firearms,, well a little paint and you would never know they were in a fire!!😊 The way the metal collections, money or jewellery, would melt became some interesting pieces.

Pile all the wood in one big pile. Take the track loader, drive on top and turn tight circles. When the pile flattens out, pile it back up and repeat. You then are only trucking wood chips. Not to many air spaces in the load. Old Betty is a great wood grinder. Just try it.
