I can never understand why absurdly rich people aren’t some of the most environmentally friendly people. The biggest thing that “poorer” people can’t do is afford things that are more environmentally conscious, as they’re almost always double if not triple the price. So why tf are these rich people choosing to willingly support these types of companies.

As someone whose master's research was in sustainable fashion, brands pulling this shit never fails to make me sick to my stomach. Boohoo has no excuse for their horrible practices. They could easily keep their shit cheap while being so much better. If they would listen, I'd easily help them overhaul their practices for a fraction of what they shelled out to use Kourtney's image.

Although I do agree with you sometimes that is all most middle class people can afford. Sustainable clothes is not the most affordable due to it being eco friendly and longer lasting clothes, it would need to be a bit more pricey. Places likes old navy and h&m even is a bit pricey as well, or rather it has gotten a bit higher in price. I used to buy from BooHoo and Shein cause it was what I could afford. Now I've got a new job that is better paying, so I can afford better clothing. Not top tier ethical clothes, but better than what I was buying, and that's the point I'm trying to make - I buy what I can afford. They could use all renewable energy for their homes, not use private jets and make better environmental decisions. Big brands could do this too. This fits on brand for kourtney specifically though - she always tried to separate herself from her sisters and this was probably why. Kourtney always cared about being more natural, organic and green and it shows with her body too! So I believe Kourtney but not the other sisters since it’s not on brand for the rest of them. If this was Kim we were talking about it would upset me more. And no you can’t support “vintage” sellers because they also sky rocket the prices if not MORE and there’s only so much fashionable vintage pieces to buy in the first place so the demand for vintage pieces will just drive shops and the original brands to remake those vintage pieces once again.

As consumers, we NEED to stop giving this family relevancy and money. Come on now, people. They wouldn’t do literally a thing to ever help support you, so why y’all helping them stay rich? Full stop.

The issue is that although people are calling out influencers and stars for promoting these products, they’re still going to buy it because it’s cheap and trendy.

I dont buy new clothes,i usually do thrift shops or my aunt and my mom would give them their used clothes to me.Its my way of helping, saving money and showing my concern to the environment. Just do a mix and match and u will be surprised by the result, but in a good way.

i just want to point out that there are sweatshops everywhere including in the US. just because something is made in china doesn’t automatically mean it sweatshop labor and just pushes a xenophobic narrative. obviously in this case, boohoo is taking advantage of workers and their labor but it’s important to note that just because a brand is making their clothes in china or any other country, doesn’t automatically mean it’s sweatshop labor. :)

I’m so glad that this puts a light on the pressure companies put on consumers to do better when they’re the ones that are doing things that completely outweigh anything we could do as individuals. Yes, we should buy less and use what we already have and be very mindful when we buy but these rich people and corporations are so beyond that. They are the least sustainable. Sustainability by definition must include a balance between people, finances, and environment. I’m so sick of greenwashing and lack of federal regulation on this, we need to elect officials that care too.

Even though I understand. Unfortunately the issue here is , if they hired a person that’s an expert and NO ONE knows about them. Then, NO ONE will be talking about it. I had never hear about this store and know I know it existe because of this. Remember, all publicity it’s good publicity.

When I saw her collection, nothing wowed me about it because I do not support that family. I refuse to see the Kardashians as the culprits. That's because they are not in our homes controlling our remote controls when many are glued to their shows. They are not forcing us to spend our money on the nonsense they sell at skyrocketing prices. Those who are obsessed with them, MADE THEM! Those who give them their money, MADE THEM! Looks to me like we are usually quick to cancel this person and that person, but the Kardashians, many continue to reign supreme. 🤷🏾‍♀️

My friend suggested I try BooHoo years ago and I did and OMG. It's insane how bad the clothes were. It's so sad that the people who are pretty much forced to work in those sweatshops bc of a lack of other viable money making options have to work their assess of just so us average Americans can have ???? literal trash clothing??? like it's so infuriating. Not even mentioning how bad it is for the environment.....😢

Well let's be honest here for a moment, she's a business woman & 'popular,' she's gonna make money and influential people are what are gonna sell the clothes unfortunately than like Greta Thunberg, and even if they wanted to hire someone knowledgeable on the subject not only would it not relate to their Business model & target age demos, but bcuz most people wouldn't know who that person is or understand what it all is, or care, honestly, let's not be naive to the culture of the day currently. Not to mention, that person would likely never be 'sold out' so to speak and align themselves with a fast fashion company.
