Any less-than-lethal weapon that so strongly resembles a lethal weapon is a stupid idea because it justifies an opponent to defend with lethal force against your less-than-lethal offense.
@rampagephoenix1735
@rampagephoenix1735 Жыл бұрын
The whole idea behind a non leathal weapon is to be as effective as as a leathal weapon in subduing your attacker WITHOUT having someone's death on your concience. I mean, seriously, what's with this "kill or be killed" mentality gun nuts have!?
@MrMZaccone
@MrMZaccone Жыл бұрын
@@rampagephoenix1735 I'm aware that's the idea, there just isn't one that works that way and one that looks like a lethal weapon justifies deadly force on the part of your attacker. Non-lethal weapons should not look anything like deadly weapons.

@@rampagephoenix1735 A firearm is a tool for "stopping" someone who risks death or grave bodily harm to you or another. It should ONLY EVER be used in a situation where "stopping" that individual is more important than whether or not they die.

@@MrMZaccone I get where you're coming from, but I'm of the mind that "stopping" doesn't have to mean the same as "killing", regardless of the attackers intentions. I believe that having the aggressor alive long enough to regret his decision afterward is more ideal than just outright death; They suffer more.

FYI, the bb gun at the beginning is not recommended for self-defenses. It's designed for collectors and those who would like to train on how to use the model gun without using expensive ammo. The most you can do with that bb gun is maybe bluff with it. But be careful, that can also get ya shot.

I know, these are all stupid. Particularly that knife and slingshot combo which even says scare someone off with the knife. If someone attacks me, I'm not going to try to scare them when they are close enough they get a hole in them. Or you get a hole in you if you don't attack back. I spent 24 years in the Da Hood, first defense lesson. Leave the area, no house or city is worth your safety; if you can leave area do so. Second, Guns can save your life but rarely do. If you follow rule one you lower the probability of a tough situation. Gun is useful ironically when every other option has failed. Awareness, finding an escape route or de-escalation often wasn't even considered. Awareness, keep your eyes open, a man points a gun at a cashier. Don't create victims but notice what he wearing as you step back. Does he have an accomplice? Notice details, call the police too at the same time. FOR GOD SAKE IF YOU SEE THE CRIME FROM ROAD DON'T PULL IN. Think, react, evade and reassess fight or flight; not all fights can be avoided but using deadly force should be the last course for either a man or woman. Heroes can get people killed, you aren't John Wick. Life isn't a movie.

@@Justin-rq6kf Actually, over the past decade, many states have lightened up on knife laws and in fact have a more detailed set of laws. For an example, some 1 inch knives are illegal to conceal carry in Maine where I live because they are meant to be weapons, whereas I can carry my massive folding Cold Steel concealed because that particular modal is not meant to be used as a weapon but as a tool for the outdoors, though it can easily be a weapon just as a blunt instrument can be a weapon. Read up on your knife laws because brass knuckles are way different than knives in that knives can be tools for other uses than a weapon, but not brass knuckles. California does indeed have weird and strange laws about everything. Why do you think the knife community, and even manufacturers, call smaller knives California legal?
@D.J.Tucci1
@D.J.Tucci1 Жыл бұрын
@@ric270 Both New York and California have strange laws because both have very large cities, and people seem to think that knives are more dangerous in larger cities when in fact, mass murders with knives are generally very rare and people scatter too quickly for too many casualties to happen with a knife.

I was the only other person who he trained in how to use them & let's just say it involved 3 of the weapon that is shown here at the end of about an arms length (each) of rope... now imagine those cool ravers that swing around those glowsticks lol. Here's a bit of stupidity for you. In those places where concealed carry weapon is available, it applies only to firearms, not to weapons carried adjunct to the firearm. Fortunately, most policemen will not complain about a woman having spray, just as, even recently, many would not arrest a woman for having a purse pistol. But the law is the law, and you must assume you will run into a stickler. I have no idea why non-firearms, for lesser-force options, are not automatically covered by the permit, although it may be that the need for competency training makes legislatures concerned. Adjunct to that, may be the fear that, under most department policies, if a lower level weapon is taken, the next level is automatically justified. In short, if your spray is taken, you are automatically justified in using the pistol, which the legislature may think will lead to the "drop-weapon" cascade, that you let him take your spray so you could shoot him. Some prosecutors are just that cynical.

The wireless stun gun wont immobilize an attacker. The barbs need to be at least 12 inches apart to take someone down. Its basically like using a cheap amazon stun gun. Cool idea, but it would really just annoy an attacker.

They should sell this stuff at the entrance of every NYC subway station. And with a little luck, you'll be ok.

Most of these would be illegal in NYC.

@@wolfmantroy6601- seriously, man. So what? Say you're ridin' the F train at 2am and two thugs approach you and demand everything you got. You care what you'll use for defense? I rode the trains in the 1960's, 70's and 80's. Bought a K55K Mercator lock blade knife in 1968 for $7. Carried that sucker everywhere while tooling 'round Fun City. And yes, carrying most all that stuff is illegal in the Apple.

@@wolfmantroy6601- amen brother. Can't fault your logic. Ain't lived there for over thirty years. Visited frequently but not since 2014. Kinda apprehensive about going to a reunion next year in Brooklyn with current crime situation. My knife fighting skills are a bit rusty. Don't wanna bring my Smith 36. I grew up in the S-hole Bush Terminal neighborhood, learned Spanish the hard way. Keep your powder dry.

With all the craziness and crime going on here in NYC, I'm shure all this is illegal here. Except for the walking stick, people can't even have a bb gun or even a crossbow

Demarcate state. You voted for stupid people. Now you can enjoy being attracted and not have to worry about simple things like bail. NY is a horrible place. Demarcates are the worst. Now you're going to complain about crime? Lol.

Thats because the city of New York doesnt want its working class tax payers tobe able to defend themselves or their families, you dont need a gun or a crossbow or a Rambo style blade, what you need is to move out of that liberal shit hole.
