Your videos are really high quality. Would you be able to review the new Dunlop revelation pro lite please?

Thanks Bernard. I only review rackets that I play with as brand reps here in SA aren’t keen to send demo rackets unless I exclusively review for that brand only. I can’t afford to buy rackets just to review. I did try the pro lite last year though as part of this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ntOgrNqQ2t2ch30.html

Hi, nice and detailed review! One small piece of advice I learned at Uni - "If you show someone a slide full of text - they will try to read it and doing so they will stop listening you". I think it would be better if you were showing one info at the time, one advantage and then onto the next one. Now more squash related - how did you like volleying with this racket? Because description of the player you believe would benefit from this racket is quite close to what I believe I play. But I know that I'm also quite a volley heavy type of guy when it comes to putting the pressure on. Also - can you compare this racket to x-speed 125? It's my first and only "pro" racket so I am considering having 2nd racket in my arsenal.

Hey there. I found volleying with the racket easy if you can find the sweet spot. Lowering the tension made that even better for me. Unfortunately they do not make the X-Speed any longer so I cannot compare.

I am currently using the TF Carboflex 135 x-top and I have felt comfortable with it just by changing the grip it comes with, I have only been playing for 4 months and have been looking for another one but not sure if this would fit me. would anyone recommend this for someone feeling comfortable with the TF Carboflex 135 x-top?

If you’re comfortable with it, don’t change it. Maybe try some rackets of other players in your club and see if there’s something else you may like, but since you’re only 4 months in, a “heavier racket” like the 135 would be perfect.

Hi, just a bit curious here. When stringing as low as 20 lb/9 kg. How long does it take for you to snap your string? I play with the Slash 120 and Supreme 125 and I’ve tried stringing down to 20 lb/9 kg but it took me two sessions to snap the string. So now I’m stringing it with a tension of 11,5 kg and I do not feel that I’ve sacrificed any power. I’ve strung my racquet with both Biophase and 305 (1,1) from Tecnifibre. On the upside with the higher tension I get a really good feel on my short shots and get a lot of cut on the ball.

That’s rather interesting. I seem to break strings more often when I string at a higher tension… especially on tear drops. I don’t break many strings but one thing I have found is that when I do, I try to notice where the string snapped. Was it right in the middle/sweet spot or closer to the frame. If close to the frame, you might be mis hitting the ball and not utilising the sweet spot. Sometimes it’s the lack of grommets or a bumper strip. Maybe check next time as it shouldn’t be related to the tension but that’s only due to what I am aware of and I have experienced.

@@thesquashbagel the only downside for me with the higher tension is when the play tends to be somewhat scrappy or your really high up, anticipating the cross or have a funny bounce and you don’t have the time to prepare for the shoot, then I more often tend to get miss hits compared with when playing with lower string tension.

Which string do you normally play with and what gauge (how thick)? Strings are another conversation.. each plays out differently even if they are at the same tension. Finding the right string and racket combination can be a very long process but once you get it right, you’ll be surprised how different it can be compared to another player.

@@thesquashbagel I’ve tried so many throughout the years but the one I love the most and it is also the one I’m using now, the Tecnifibre 305 18 gauge (1,10 mm).

Are you sure you get a nice fresh string? I had one reel unusable because I put it in rather humid storage.

One of the kids I coach has the slash I didn’t like it at all strings were way too tight which caused a lot of shaft flex it was not forgiving at all a very small sweet spot would like to try it with strings at 25 pounds ish hoping it would be better I owned the previous asal model and was exactly the same why would tecnifibre make a racket with such a small power zone I’ve been using the Harrow vibe karim Gawad signature racket for 3 years now and it’s the best racket by far I’ve used in. Y 35 years of playing and I try them all that’s the one you want to try you won’t look back great with 305 1.1 at 26 pounds but recently have strung it with ashaway supernick xl micro at 28 pounds and it feels even better please do yourself a favour and get one 👍

Hopefully they try it with a new tension and enjoy it. Maybe one day I’ll try the vibe, but I only review rackets that I’m currently playing with and I’m happy with the Slash right now. Should that change, I think the Vapor would be next before the Vibe but I can imagine that it would be a high quality frame too.

156g all-in is not light at all lol. That's literally the most average weight

Correct, but there are some factors that contribute to that. That’s why I said their “lightest” racket.

No problem James 👌🏾 Except for the shape, the 125 and 120 felt the same weight wise… so it’s probably marketing. The Joel Makin is probably a true 120
