Ted Shackelford Interview about his role as Gary Ewing on Knots Landing

Janet Langhart is the interviewer.
He played Gary Ewing in the CBS television series Knots Landing (1979-1993); since 2006, he has appeared in a recurring role on the CBS soap The Young and the Restless, portraying twin brothers William and Jeffrey Bardwell.
On February 2, 2006, Shackelford joined the cast of the daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless as Genoa City district attorney William Bardwell. His last air date on the popular soap as William Bardwell was on July 18, 2007, when his character succumbed to complications caused by a stroke. However, on August 7, 2007, Shackelford returned to the show as Bardwell's identical twin brother, Jeffrey Bardwell.
In 2013, Shackelford reprised the role of Gary Ewing in three episodes of the new Dallas series on TNT, in one of which he was reunited with Joan Van Ark as Valene.

Ted, now is 71 years old and has aged naturally. So, I do not know what he is doing now in 2017. He could be retired from acting now, so you never know.

Actually a diffrent actor played gary first but didnt want to continue so ted was cast

Is it just me. Or is the interviewer throwing herself at him ?? That movie he was talking about was God awful. He was seeing Teri Austin at the time..Ted is talking about the 1986-87 season.. Thanks for the upload.. XD

I’m only 2 1/2 minutes in and it’s not just you. Also I’ve never seen the full movie he mentions in the interview but I’ve seen the marketing and some clips. Looks like a cheap B-flick. I did always like Nancy Allen though.

I used to laugh at Gary Ewing because I never saw the heart-throb appeal. He looked like the identical twin of Frank Burns on MASH. You can really see the resemblance here.
