A lot of artists that I follow have their work stolen and sold on temu. I just saw yesterday that an artist who draws beautiful houses posted a pic of a print of his work being sold for peanuts on Temu.And it goes on with so many others .....

Listen. I have been doing online selling for over 15 years. I was on eBay, Etsy, and some European platforms. Now I am on Shopify. Why? Because all these big marketplaces are a big mess now. Etsy was once an amazing platform. Great artists, quality products, good service. Now, for many years, it was heavily infiltrated by sellers, mostly from China, who steal other people's work and designs and then mass produce them in China and sell them for peanuts. Now Etsy is not anymore a handmade and artisan shop. NO. it is just a reseller's heaven for Chinese products. While we are forced to comply with so many rules and taxes, the Chinese factories respect nothing. They sell plastic like crazy. Plastic painted with toxic colors and delivered in cheap and toxic packaging....and nobody cares. Not to mention how cheap is the shipping from China but NOT from the USA or Europe TO China. TEMU is just the start. Soon other big companies from China will attack the world e-commerce. Our politicians does not protects local businesses.

The main adjustment is for sellers to appeal to loyal customers who love not only their products and services, but also their brand. And the brand should represent a strong purpose, and mission or goal that a specific person wants to achieve or reach. Etsy, Shopify, Amazon and other similar platforms should not be the only place where online retailers make their money. Now we have to diversify and also build our own websites and list of customers. Ultimately we can still make a nice profit even with fewer customers, because we would be using our own websites and keeping more from each sale.

Are you sure Temu doesn't have customers coming back and back again? I have done multiple videos on what I got and I really can say I haven't been disappointed with it.

If Etsy would remember that the platform was originally for "handmade", they would understand that handmade can't be shipped "same day." I am thinking about custom requests. And imagine just starting out and still working your other job.

I watched your show about poor customer service with Etsy. I believe having foreigners do customer service, policies don’t make sense and ai banning people randomly is a vulnerability. If Temu and Alibaba can have great customer service and Etsy bad customer service. People will come back to place or even sellers jump ship to company who treats their people right. If Temu wants to win all they have to do is have exceptional customer service and improve their product’s. They would destroy all competition because all big companies outsource their customer service which has become awful of late

If you actually go to China and see with your own eyes, you'll find many Uyghurs run their own businesses such as cotton farms. Others work in factories, some of which are Uyghur owned, and they're paid the same salaries as Han Chinese. There really isn't any forced labour there, or anywhere else in China for that matter. Don't believe everything you read online, go there, look and learn. BTW the Uyghurs are really welcoming to foreigners, with an interesting culture and delicious food. P.S. I'm a Brit who loves travelling off the beaten path.

You cannot buy anything on Temu that I make so Temu is something that is more mass manufactured and if you’re trying to get some beautiful piece of jewelry or some embroidered outfit for baptism or something totally special some handmade wood crafting something like that you’re not getting it on Temu, if you’re that kind of a seller you’re always gonna have a market but if you’re selling print on demand T-shirts For $15 and Temu has them for three or four dollars yeah there’s big competition in fact I have bought many T-shirts on Temo and I think they are great quality and I love them and get many compliments on them. I have had one issue on one item I bought, which ended up being a very easy return and replacement. I don’t have any problems with them whatsoever. It’s unfortunate That they do steal ideas but you find that on Etsy as well. Total infringement of many name brands. Basically I by blanks from them to decorate.for my shop.

You guys are wrong. They have repeating customers here in Europe. They have nice things for a fraction of the price of local shops or national brands. They ship much faster nowadays and their service is great. They really lure you in because in todays economy you can still afford something nice at a low price. And I´m not even into shopping or consumerism.

We didn't say no one buys from them on a repeat basis. SOME people do, but when you look at the marekt sruveys people are less likely to repeat purchase from them than they are from the other platforms

I for one will never give my business to any Chinese run companies. They cannot be trusted. Amazon has third party sellers and I've had the worst experiences with the Chinese sellers having my cc stolen. Amazon then told me what to look for while shopping to avoid them. TEMU I'll admit looks tempting but I just remind myself of all the trouble I went through.

Dropshippers on Amazon and Etsy will be in trouble. At the end of the day dropshipping products are from China in most cases.

Question, is this a 2 way street? Its 1.5 Billion people in China...can i sell them the stuff from my Etsy store? I lived in mainland China for years before the pandemic and they love American brands more than their own. Also, they are more than willing to pay a premium for something made in America. It would be amazing if Etsy gives us access to that market in a way that doesn't require us to do translations. Artificial Intelligence can translate, right?
