Regardless of how great your swing is, the only way to hit the ball cleanly is by meeting it at the ideal contact point and that is what timing is. Timing is the ability to take the racquet head to contact at exactly the right time. These three exercises will help you improve this skill and therefore the consistency of your game.

I think you have a very fine set of exercises, however I believe they are best suited to adjusting your swing to hit the ball at different heights (which is, of course very important). Training to hit at exactly the right time requires reading incoming ball velocity, spin and adjusting for the speed of the court surface. This is probably even more difficult than dealing with different ball heights. Unfortunately, I know of no basic exercises to make this easier than hitting many thousands of balls and learning to make the necessary judgments by countless repetitions. I'd also like to mention that very often what goes for "bad, lazy footwork" is misjudging where and how high and fast the incoming ball is coming so that the swing is compromised and the feet seem to be in the wrong position.

Not understood the utility of metronome exercise. The timing should be always linked to the ball not to an external sound, differently from learning piano .

In tennis the ball gives you the timing but with the metronome you are going to practice taking the racquet to the ball at exactly the right time, so that when you have to do it with the ball you can achieve this easier.
